Combining tradition and modernity
With the main orientation of being a bridge between the past and the present, between tradition and development, the Provincial Museum is designed with a high level of unity between content and form, between architectural art and exhibition art. In which, the traditional features are clearly shown in the closeness, exuding the national identity and cultural convergence characteristics of Vietnam in general, Phu Yen in particular.
The front facade of the building is inspired by the image of King Hung's hat, with the motifs of bronze drums and Lac birds, showing respect for the nation's origins. The imprints in daily life and cultural features through many generations have been recorded through each cultural and artistic image, crystallizing into an architectural block imbued with traditional culture. The entrance to the main hall of the building is the image of a bronze drum (negative) as if entering a place containing culture through the ages. The entire building is designed in the shape of an architectural block like a boat carrying Phu Yen culture to the open sea.
The design of this project shows strength, liveliness, modern means and methods of display. The exhibition space of the Provincial Museum is uniquely designed and arranged according to each theme. In addition, the outdoor exhibition space has created a spacious space for exhibition activities and cultural events.
Architect Phan Thanh Liem, Chairman of Phu Yen Architects Association - the author of the design of the Provincial Museum said: Right from the beginning of the idea, I wanted to bring the mark of 4,000 years of civilization, from the beginning to the formation of the Vietnamese nation into the design. This is not only a place to preserve and conserve cultural and historical values, but also an importanteducational destination for the next generation. Besides the unique architectural features, solid and soft architectural blocks, and motifs imbued with national identity, the museum space is also covered with green space, contributing to the urban landscape.

This is a very effective place for traditional education because it not only serves as a sightseeing spot but also serves as a living history class, helping the younger generation understand and appreciate more about the nation's origins. In particular, the Provincial Museum is also a place that regularly organizes exhibitions so that the younger generation can come and learn.”
