Taxable import-export turnover in the first quarter increased by 13.3%

According to Lao Cai Border Gate Customs, the taxable import-export turnover in the first quarter of the province reached 91.4 million USD, an increase of 13.3% over the same period in 2024.

Of which, taxable export turnover reached 3.8 million USD; taxable import turnover reached 87.6 million USD, up 20.1% over the same period in 2024. Some major taxable export items are: plywood, bananas, watermelons, dragon fruits, lemons...; major taxable import items are: electric energy, fertilizers, chemicals, components, machinery and equipment, coke, iron and steel products and vegetables, tubers, fruits...

The state budget revenue through border gates implemented by customs as of March 31, 2025 reached VND 200.4 billion, equal to 23.5% of the target assigned by the Ministry of Finance, an increase of 23% over the same period in 2024. Revenue from taxable items in the first quarter of 2025 all increased compared to the same period in 2024, in which some imported items increased, including: rubber turnover increased by 160%, tax revenue increased by VND 4 billion; electricity turnover increased by 71%, tax revenue increased by VND 21 billion; confectionery turnover increased by 50%, tax revenue increased by VND 15 billion; machinery and equipment turnover increased by 194%, tax revenue increased by VND 14 billion.
