Designer Julien Fournié has been an official member of the Paris Haute Couture Association (France) since 2017.

In this capacity, Julien Fournié is officially featured on the Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week schedule . He is one of the few designers to be recognized with the title of Haute Couture.

Bringing world fashion to Vietnam

Ms. Trang Le - President of Vietnam International Fashion Week - said that designer Julien Fournié participated in Vietnam International Fashion Week 2015, when he was not yet an official member of the Paris Haute Couture Association.

At that time, he presented the First Initiation collection inspired by Egyptian culture.

After a decade, Julien Fournié returns to Vietnam International Fashion Week , marking a meaningful milestone of his 50th birthday, and also an opportunity for him to express his gratitude to Vietnam for accepting his designs from the very beginning.

"Inviting a designer who has won the Haute Couture title is much more difficult than other international designers because their schedules are so packed.

The requirements and procedures for organizing shows for them are more stringent. For example, each outfit must be packed separately (not in a suitcase), kept upright, and sent by air. The selection of models for the show also has high requirements," Ms. Trang Le told Tuoi Tre Online .

Ms. Trang Le has patiently invited designer Julien Fournié for many years. She believes that Vietnam International Fashion Week is a bridge to bring world fashion to Vietnam and bring Vietnamese fashion to the world.

"Inviting international designers creates opportunities for Vietnamese designers to compete, start thinking about positioning their personal brands, and have a direction for development to the world," Ms. Trang Le emphasized.

At Vietnam International Fashion Week Spring Summer 2025 , Julien Fournié introduced 29 designs from the First Circus collection , which made a splash at Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week.

Affirming Vietnamese identity through fashion

Designer Julien Fournié is one of 16 designers participating in Vietnam International Fashion Week Spring Summer 2025.

Other international designers include Alberto Zambelli (Italy), Frederick Lee (Singapore) and fashion brands from Malaysia and Indonesia.

Participating Vietnamese designers include: Dang Trong Minh Chau, Adrian Anh Tuan, Le Thanh Hoa, Vu Viet Ha, Ivan Tran, Ha Nhat Tien, Cao Minh Tien, Vuong Khang... In which Le Thanh Hoa performed the opening act, and Vu Viet Ha performed the closing act.

Vietnam International Fashion Week 19th season 2025 has the theme Unique Identity - Creating Style.

Designer Le Thanh Hoa introduces The Light of Water collection as a tribute to the beauty of water, soft, pure yet strong.

Le Thanh Hoa told Tuoi Tre Online that he was proud but also under pressure to take on the role of opening the fashion week for the second time. He wanted to bring impressive designs that were still full of his own personality.

Designer Vu Viet Ha brings the Ma dao collection, inspired by markets and the lives of people in the highlands. The quintessence of Vietnamese identity will be expressed through weaving and embroidery. Brocade is also a material used in this collection.

This year's fashion week continues to honor environmentally friendly materials. The highlight is the collections that express "unique identity" through the language of fashion.
