On the afternoon of October 29, Mr. Le Hong Hai - Director of Binh Tri Thien Railway Joint Stock Company - informed that he was dispatching two trains carrying rocks to load the Bach Ho and Da Vien bridges.
"Currently, the water level of the Huong River is rising and is 15cm below the bottom of the bridge girder. We are in the process of sending two trains to load the two bridges," said Mr. Hai.
The company said that because Binh Dien Hydropower Plant continues to discharge floodwaters, the water level on the Huong River is rising rapidly.
To serve the relief load for Bach Ho and Da Vien bridges, Binh Tri Thien Railway Joint Stock Company requested relevant units to gather stone-carrying ships from the south and north to rescue Bach Ho and Da Vien bridges.
There are currently 19 crushed stone wagons at Lang Co station, 7 boulder wagons at Huong Thuy station, and 11 crushed stone wagons at Hien Sy station.
After loading on the bridge, the cars and locomotive will be brought to Hue station.
