About 70 km from Quy Nhon city center, Mui Vi Rong - Ganh Da in Tan Phung fishing village, My Tho commune (Phu My district, Binh Dinh) is a natural landscape that still retains its wild, majestic but equally poetic beauty.
Vi Rong Cape with layers of rocks stacked on top of each other, naturally interwoven to create unique and strong lines.
The rocks have been eroded by the waves and wind over millions of years, wearing a mossy gray coat, dotted with a bit of yellow from the afternoon sun, adding to the ancient and mysterious look of Vi Rong Cape.
In particular, the rocky tip juts out into the sea, undulating in layers like dragon scales basking in the sunlight, creating an extremely strong visual impression.
Mui Vi Rong, the name not only comes from the unique shape of the rock but also contains interesting legends that have been passed down through generations by local people in Binh Dinh.
According to local oral tradition, during the Tang Dynasty, the famous geomancer Gao Pian discovered a dragon vein shaped like carp scales extending out to the sea and feared that this dragon vein would cause adverse effects to the imperial court. Gao Pian used magic to suppress it, cutting off the dragon vein, and the pieces of carp scales that fell down turned into the undulating rocky outcrops arranged in the shape of a dragon head that we see today.
Below Vi Rong Cape are steep cliffs forming a side arch like a cave, which is also home to swiftlets.
Mui Vi Rong is a harmonious blend of the majestic beauty of the rocky mountains and the gentle, vastness of the ocean. The white-capped waves crash day and night against the cliffs, drawing vivid patterns on the gray rocks, creating murmuring sounds like the melodious music of the ocean.
Besides its natural beauty, Mui Vi Rong also attracts tourists by the simplicity and hospitality of the people of Tan Phung fishing village. The small houses, the colorful boats moored and the golden sandbank create a picture of a peaceful and relaxing fishing village.
Currently, Mui Vi Rong is gradually becoming a bright spot on the tourism map of Binh Dinh province. With potentials such as: wild beauty, mysterious stories, beautiful beaches and the friendliness of local people... are factors that attract tourists to experience.
