On the afternoon of June 6, the 115 Emergency Center (HCMC) announced that it had just provided timely emergency care to a Taiwanese pregnant woman with severe preeclampsia, thanks to the smooth coordination between the internal and external hospitals.
Previously, at around 8:40 p.m. on June 3, the 115 Emergency Center received an emergency call from a pregnant woman named LYC (32 years old, Taiwanese, living in District 10, Ho Chi Minh City) who was 26 weeks pregnant and suddenly had heavy vaginal bleeding while sitting in a park near her house.
The shift leader immediately sent an emergency team to quickly approach the patient 10 minutes after receiving the call.
Upon arrival, the emergency team noted that the pregnant woman had high blood pressure, a rapid heart rate of 134 beats/minute, continuous vaginal bleeding, and was being monitored and treated for high-risk preeclampsia during pregnancy.
After 8 minutes of emergency transport from the initial emergency room to Hung Vuong Hospital, the pregnant woman was admitted and diagnosed with severe preeclampsia and severe placental abruption.
The on-duty team performed an emergency cesarean section. After 5 minutes of receiving the baby, the doctors delivered the 720 gram baby. The baby is currently receiving intensive care in the neonatal intensive care unit. The mother continues to receive post-operative care and is stable 3 days after the surgery.
