At the forum, delegates discussed the potential for cooperation in many areas, including procedures for importing goat and sheep meat into the Vietnamese market, opportunities for cooperation in raising and slaughtering goats and sheep, as well as exporting Vietnamese fruits to Mongolia. In particular, cooperation in processing and consuming livestock products, including meat and bones, is opening up great opportunities for businesses of the two countries.

Mr. Doan Khanh Tam, Deputy Director of the National Border Committee, shared that Mongolia, with its harsh climate and vast steppe, has strongly developed the livestock industry. Livestock in Mongolia are grazed naturally, eating about 3,000 types of herbs, creating meat products with special flavors. Mongolia has been a member of the World Organization for Animal Health since 1989 and is looking for cooperation opportunities to develop the meat processing industry, especially livestock slaughtering and processing.

Within the framework of the forum, businesses and authorities of the two sides signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in distributing Mongolian goat and sheep meat in Vietnam, opening a new era for promoting agricultural product exchange between the two countries.

The signing of this cooperation program is an important step after the State visit of General Secretary and President To Lam to Mongolia at the end of September. This is an important milestone in elevating the relationship between the two countries to a Comprehensive Partnership, opening up opportunities for stronger economic and trade cooperation in the future.

The Vietnam-Mongolia Agricultural Products Promotion Forum held on November 20 is not only a bridge to help businesses of the two countries seek cooperation opportunities, but also reflects the long-term and strategic diplomatic relationship between the two countries. Along with the signing of cooperation and investment contracts, promoting agricultural trade will contribute to the sustainable development and prosperity of both economies.

Vietnam and Mongolia both have outstanding advantages in the agricultural sector. Vietnam is a leading exporter of products such as rice, coffee, tropical fruits, etc., while Mongolia is famous for its high-quality beef, lamb and dairy products. These are areas where businesses of the two countries can not only complement each other, but also exploit to meet the growing demand of the global market.
