Second session of local People's Councils

On August 5, the People's Council of Phu Quoc Special Zone, term I, 2021-2026, held its second session (mid-year session 2025). Delegate of An Giang Provincial People's Council, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairwoman of Phu Quoc Special Zone People's Council Dang Thi Hong Gam chaired the session. Also attending the session was Chairman of Phu Quoc Special Zone People's Committee Tran Minh Khoa.

Provincial People's Council Delegate, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Phu Quoc Special Zone delivered the opening speech of the session.

At this session, the People's Council of Phu Quoc special zone considered and gave opinions on 6 draft resolutions, 3 reports and 5 programs in 4 groups: Reviewing and evaluating the implementation of socio -economic development tasks in July and key tasks and solutions for the last months of 2025; reviewing work reports of the Standing Committee, People's Council committees, and People's Committee of the special zone in July and tasks for the last months of 2025; The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the special zone reported on the activities of the Front participating in government building in July and tasks for the last months of 2025; reviewing draft resolutions of the People's Council, reports of the People's Committee of the special zone; reviewing explanations, questions and answers; approving resolutions of the People's Council.

At the meeting, Chairman of Phu Quoc Special Zone People's Committee Tran Minh Khoa directly answered questions from delegates. At the same time, he directed specialized departments and offices according to their assigned functions and tasks to handle work flexibly, accurately, and effectively, creating high consensus among the people.

* On the same day, August 5, the People's Council of Giang Thanh commune ( An Giang province) held the second session (regular session in mid-2025). The People's Council of Giang Thanh commune reviewed and approved 5 submissions, 5 resolutions and reports on adjusting and allocating the commune budget revenue and expenditure estimates for 2025 after rearranging commune-level administrative units; promulgating the operating regulations of the Standing Committee of the People's Council of the commune.

Delegates passed the meeting resolution.

Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Giang Thanh Commune Vo Van Binh said that the main content of the meeting was to focus on evaluating the results of implementing socio-economic development tasks in the first 6 months of the year; main tasks and solutions for the last 6 months of 2025, especially tasks directly related to the people.
