Nghe An provincial leaders congratulate students who won regional and international Olympic prizes in 2025

Brilliant results

In the 2024-2025 school year, Nghe An province has 6 students bringing home 7 medals at regional and international Olympic competitions, all of whom are students of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted. Among them, Nguyen The Quan won 2 Gold Medals at 2 competitions: Asian Physics Olympiad and International Physics Olympiad; Vo Trong Khai won Gold Medal at International Mathematics Olympiad; Nguyen Ngo Duc won Gold Medal at Mendeleev International Chemistry Olympiad; Phan Quang Triet won Silver Medal at Asian Physics Olympiad; Tran Nguyen Khai won Silver Medal at European Physics Olympiad and Phan Thuc Nhien won Silver Medal at International Russian Olympiad.

Nguyen The Quan (12A3 student, Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted) represented the award-winning students to share his happiness and pride for contributing to bringing glory to the Fatherland, beautifying the tradition of studiousness of his homeland Nghe An, and adding more color to the school's golden record of achievements.

To be selected for the regional and international teams this year, the students passed the National Excellent Student Selection Exam at the end of 2024 with leading positions to be selected into 2 teams to compete in the regional and international Olympics. With determination and outstanding efforts, Nghe An students have entered 6 regional and international teams, of which 2 students from the Asian Physics team of Phan School were selected.

Except for the National Excellent Student Exam, the test time is 3 hours, the remaining exams each have 2 sessions including 1 theoretical exam session and 1 practical exam session. Each session is 5 hours, including pre- and post-exam procedures, about 8 hours in the exam room and each exam has a different time period. In addition to learning enough knowledge for the exam, candidates also have to practice concentrating for 5 hours at different times of the day to achieve the best results.

Student Nguyen The Quan also, on behalf of the honored students, sent his thanks to the provincial leaders, the education sector, and the school's Board of Directors for always caring, creating favorable conditions, and closely guiding the students during their participation in the team. He also sent his deep gratitude to the teachers who directly trained them, who were inspirational, with their enthusiasm and dedication, guided the students to pursue their passion from the beginning to achieve the ultimate results.

In particular, the support of the family is the motivation for the children to be confident on every journey. Along with that, friends from Phan Boi Chau school have together contributed to making the youth more beautiful and brilliant. "The achievements we have achieved today are both a source of pride and a motivation for us to strive to practice and study in the next stages", Nguyen The Quan expressed.

Inspiration for the next generation

At the meeting, Mr. Phan Van Thai - Math team training teacher - Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted shared that this year is the 7th course he has led and accompanied students to international competitions, and the 2nd time a student has won a medal. When given the opportunity to participate as an observer to support students in the competition, he himself has also learned and improved his vision to build a training plan for the following years.

In addition, he accompanies students to help them feel confident when entering the international arena. Regarding the achievement of Vo Trong Khai competing and winning the Gold Medal at the International Mathematical Olympiad, Mr. Thai shared that it was a journey of great effort. In particular, Khai and students of other subject teams improve themselves day by day, conquering the peak day by day.

In 2025, Nghe An province continuously received good news from the education sector. In which, the high school graduation exam results led the country, which is the basic foundation for the education sector to develop key quality. In international and regional competitions, Nghe An students won 4 gold medals and 3 silver medals. In which, the gold medals were all in the top of the world and ranked first for the Vietnamese delegation.
