Participated in founding Thang Newspaper
During the resistance days, the leaders of Khanh Hoa province saw in the young man Ly Van Sau the qualities of a journalist and that was the opportunity that led him to become one of the first founders of Bao Thang. From the policy of the Provincial Party Committee in April 1946, there must be a newspaper of the Provincial Party Committee, to a year later, on April 26, 1947, the first issue of Bao Thang was a journey with many hardships and sacrifices. After being brought to the grassroots and reaching the people, Bao Thang was enthusiastically received and received much good sentiment. The following issues were regularly published under the efforts of journalist Ly Van Sau and his comrades.
Only 4 months after the launch of the Vietnamese-language newspaper Thang, journalist Ly Van Sau and his comrades launched another French-language newspaper for propaganda, “Le Trait d'Union” (The Gap Noi). With his ability to synthesize news and his proficiency in English and French, journalist Ly Van Sau published a lot of information specifically for French officials and soldiers to refute the enemy's deceptive propaganda; speak up about the just struggle for independence and freedom of the Vietnamese people; call on French soldiers to oppose the war... At the same time, the two newspapers were published right in the heart of the enemy and created a great resonance, not only among the people but also among intellectuals, officials in the ruling apparatus and enemy soldiers, as commented by comrade Ha Huy Giap: “In the early days of the resistance war against France, Khanh Hoa was very good at creating two newspapers in Vietnamese and French. It took a strong policy and determination, gathering educated people and a strong movement to succeed”.
Heavy love for Khanh Hoa
Participating in the discussion, we learned more about journalist Ly Van Sau's feelings for the land, people of Khanh Hoa and the people who work for Khanh Hoa Newspaper. He was originally from Nghe An, but his exciting revolutionary career was associated with Khanh Hoa province. He once wrote a poem: "The land of Agarwood gave me two treasures/A revolutionary path/A pearl to love and light up the path..." His wife's name is Ngoc Anh - a daughter of Khanh Hoa. His name Ly Van Sau is also a combination of the first letter Ly - his sister's name and Sau - his wife's nickname (Miss Sau Anh). He also named his daughter Khanh An, a combination of the names of the two provinces Khanh Hoa - Nghe An. From the cradle of the revolution in Khanh Hoa, journalist Ly Van Sau has grown to become a talented and dedicated journalist and diplomat. Journalist Ly Van Sau is one of the intellectual journalists who devoted the best years of his life to revolutionary ideals, to the cause of fighting for national independence and building the country. In addition to founding Bao Thang, he also contributed to the establishment of the Southern Voice and Southern Voice Radio from the beginning; becoming an excellent spokesman for the delegation of the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam in Paris (1968 - 1973).
