After 3 days of intense exams, the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2023-2024 school year has come to an end. Despite the extremely hot weather, all candidates, especially those in remote areas and islands, were given maximum support, creating the best conditions for food, accommodation, and travel, thereby helping them complete the exam in the best way. The special attention of the province, the responsible participation of sectors and localities, the companionship of parents and the efforts of candidates contributed to creating a serious, honest, objective and fair exam.

According to the records of the Provincial Media Center, during all 3 days of the exam, the work of ensuring safety, the processes and procedures for taking the exam were always carried out very well by the examination councils (HĐCT). The examination officers all followed all the procedures of the exam correctly and completely, giving detailed instructions on the regulations, rules and things to note to minimize errors of the candidates. The conditions of the facilities, electricity and water of the HĐCT were all well ensured and maintained throughout the exam days. The students were able to take the exam in safe, serious and favorable conditions.

Ms. Luong Minh Thu, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vu Van Hieu High School (Ha Long City), shared: In order to provide the best conditions for candidates, the Board of Directors has prepared 23 official examination rooms, 1 backup examination room (for candidates with Covid-19 or with abnormal health conditions) with 4 medical staff on duty. In front of the examination rooms, there are water bottles and disposable paper cups for students to use when needed. All of these measures are maintained throughout the examination days to ensure the health of candidates participating in the exam safely. The examination supervision work is also carried out strictly according to the regulations of the Department of Education and Training. At the end of each exam, we have a team to clean the examination rooms.

In general, at the exam sessions, the traffic police and local security forces were mobilized to monitor and support traffic flow in front of the exam area to avoid congestion and ensure that candidates arrived on time. Volunteers were on duty to "share the fire", supporting candidates to confidently enter the exam room and achieve the best results. Candidate Le Minh Hieu, taking the exam at Le Hong Phong High School (Cam Pha City), shared: On the first day of the exam, I overslept so I woke up a bit late. However, fortunately, I was woken up by the police officers and volunteers from Cam Phu ward so I arrived at the exam site on time. Right after the exam, I went to see them to thank them.

In particular, during the 3 days of the exam, the weather in the localities in the province was very hot, however, the candidates were all supported by their parents and relatives, taking them to the exam venue. In many exam venues, the candidates were also encouraged, asked questions and stood by their side throughout the exam sessions. Teacher Tang Thi Thom, Literature teacher at Cam La Primary and Secondary School, Quang Yen Town, shared: The students went to the exam but the teachers were sometimes more worried than the students. After each exam session, I was there in time to ask the students if they did well, if they were tired or not and answer their advanced questions. I am very happy that most of my students did quite well on the exam, especially in Literature.

Despite the hot weather, the power supply was fully guaranteed for the exam sessions. In addition, the electricity sector units organized full shifts to handle incidents and repair electricity during the exam period. High schools and secondary schools with exam sites have proactively rented backup generators to ensure students have the best conditions to complete the exam.

The encouragement of teachers, the companionship of parents, and the support of functional forces and volunteers have become a great source of motivation for all candidates to have a stable mentality, to complete all exams with a stable mentality and the most confident. Candidate Do Pham Thanh Dat, taking the exam for the National High School of Tien Yen said: I did quite well on all the exams, this year's exam was within my ability. I was still confused about some difficult questions, but on average I got about 70% on the test. I am confident that I will pass the exam to Tien Yen High School.

It is known that for the three general subjects of Literature, Mathematics, and Foreign Language, most candidates assessed that this year's non-specialized exam was within their ability, closely following the textbook program, mainly in the 9th grade program. In addition to basic knowledge, the exam also had many questions of a classification nature for excellent students. After finishing each exam, most candidates left the exam room in a relaxed mood.

For the specialized system, most candidates shared the opinion that the specialized subject exam had knowledge at a high level of application and application, promoting students' creativity and strengths. Candidate Tran Ngoc Khanh, taking the specialized English exam, the Board of Directors of Ha Long Specialized High School, said: Compared to the general English exam, the specialized English exam is much more difficult. However, because I tried to study and practice carefully, I also completed my exam quite well. I hope I will have a high result and pass the Ha Long Specialized School as expected.

A safe and objective exam season

The 10th grade entrance exam for the 2023-2024 school year in the province took place from June 1 to June 3 with 15,403 candidates registering for the exam. The province arranged 32 exam centers (an increase of 2 exam centers compared to 2022), with 653 official exam rooms and 42 backup exam rooms; mobilized about 2,200 cadres, teachers, staff and coordinating forces to participate in the task. The exam organized 3 general subjects: Math, Literature and Foreign Language (English, Chinese); 10 specialized subjects: Math, Informatics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Literature, History, Geography, English and Chinese. All took place to ensure quality, safety, seriousness, compliance with regulations and fairness for all candidates.

As one of the localities organizing the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2023-2024 school year the earliest in the country (from June 1-3), Quang Ninh has closely directed and carefully prepared so that the exam takes place with quality assurance, safety, seriousness, and in accordance with regulations.

In the directive documents, the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee have requested Party committees at all levels, agencies, units, localities, relevant departments and branches to closely follow and seriously implement the directive documents of the Central Government and the province on the preparation and organization of the exam; fully prepare human resources, facilities and equipment to organize the exams well. In particular, ensure timely response to situations arising from the Covid-19 epidemic, other epidemics and when natural disasters occur...

The Department of Education and Training has coordinated with departments, branches, sectors and localities to develop plans and implement measures to ensure security and order, and arrange sufficient forces to ensure absolute safety for examination areas and examination activities. In particular, solutions have been deployed to ensure the safety of candidates and those participating in the organization of the examination, especially food hygiene and safety, disease prevention, proactive response to floods and other unexpected situations; ensuring conditions regarding funding, electricity grid, information transmission lines and conditions serving the examination.

Localities have also reviewed and taken measures to support candidates, especially those from ethnic minorities, families with preferential policies, students with disabilities, poor households, remote areas, and islands; absolutely no candidate has to skip the exam or arrive late to the exam due to economic difficulties, travel difficulties, or other objective obstacles.

The efforts of the candidates, together with the participation of departments, organizations, functional forces and localities, have contributed to creating a safe, serious and quality exam. According to the report of the Department of Education and Training, during all 3 exam days, the exam organization conditions at all 32 exam centers were ensured, with no unusual incidents occurring. The exam supervision was serious and in accordance with regulations.

Accordingly, on the morning of June 1, in the Literature subject, the whole province had 15,141/15,262 candidates taking the exam, 121 candidates were absent, the attendance rate was 99.2%. At the Examination Council of Vu Van Hieu High School (Ha Long City), there was 1 candidate violating the exam regulations (bringing documents into the exam room). In the general subject of Foreign Language (English and Chinese), on the afternoon of June 1, the whole province had 15,140 candidates taking the exam; 122 candidates were absent; the attendance rate was 99.2%.

On June 2, in the morning, 15,134 candidates took the Math exam; 128 candidates were absent. The attendance rate was 99.16%; 2 candidates, 1 at Vu Van Hieu High School Examination Council and 1 at Ngo Quyen High School Examination Council, violated the exam regulations (bringing cell phones into the exam room). In the afternoon exam for specialized subjects on June 2 (Biology, History, Geography, English), 492 candidates took the exam out of a total of 495 candidates registered; 1 candidate took the History exam using documents in the exam room and was suspended from the exam.

In the morning exam session on June 3 (Math, Informatics, Physics, Chemistry, Literature, Chinese), 652 out of 661 candidates registered to take the exam; no candidate violated the exam regulations.

The 10th grade entrance exam for the 2023-2024 school year has ended with many impressions and emotions. Regardless of the result, students can breathe a sigh of relief because they have done their best. This will be an important milestone to help students grow more mature on their future path and be more confident in the upcoming important exams.
