This is a momentous milestone in the development journey, as the reform process has entered its nearly four-decade period and the two-tiered local government model has officially been operating synchronously and effectively. In the vibrant atmosphere of spring, every Party committee, government, neighborhood, and village in the province is looking forward to this grand event with a spirit of proactiveness, urgency, responsibility, and confidence.
Immediately after the Politburo issued Directive No. 46-CT/TW on May 16, 2025, on leading the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and deputies to People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term; along with the National Assembly's Resolution on shortening the term of the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term, Tuyen Quang province promptly implemented comprehensive and systematic leadership and guidance for the election.
The Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee issued a plan to implement the Politburo 's Directive; the Provincial People's Committee issued Directive No. 783/CT-UBND on organizing the election in the province. Party committees, government agencies, the Fatherland Front, and mass organizations all simultaneously participated, upholding the spirit of "The people know, the people discuss, the people do, the people inspect, the people supervise, and the people benefit," so that each voter's ballot truly represents their complete trust in the new spring.
Comrade Nguyen Van Ton, Head of the Local Government Department of the Department of Internal Affairs, said that this year's election is taking place under the conditions of operating a two-tiered government model for the first time, a major shift that requires creativity and a high sense of responsibility from the provincial to the commune level. Comrade Nguyen Van Ton shared: “The workload is enormous, requiring accuracy down to every number and every polling station. But with a proactive and flexible spirit and confidence in the leadership of the Party committees from the province to the commune, Tuyen Quang will successfully complete the task, so that election day truly becomes a festival for all the people.”

In Tan Trao commune, a historical land that once witnessed the National Congress, the atmosphere of preparation for the election is even more vibrant. Under the banyan trees of Tan Trao, where the spirit of independence and democracy resonates, today slogans and banners of propaganda shine brightly in the spring sunshine.
Comrade Duong Minh Tuan, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Tan Trao commune, shared: “The commune receives instructions directly from the provincial level, not through the district level as before, so the workload is larger, but it also helps to implement the work faster, more thoroughly, and more realistically. The commune's Steering Committee has developed a specific plan, clearly assigning tasks to each member, ensuring propaganda, security, and absolute safety on election day.”
For the people of Tan Trao commune, the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and representatives to the People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term is truly a momentous day, a festival where people place their full trust in their ballots. Mr. Be Van Du, from Tan Lap village, fondly recalls the atmosphere of previous elections: "In the past, elections usually took place at Tan Trao Communal House - a historical site where the Tan Trao National Congress was held."
The sacred atmosphere of the revolutionary autumn of yesteryear still lingers under the communal house, under the banyan tree, and in the hearts of every resident here. On election day, everyone eagerly arrived at Tan Trao Communal House very early to exercise their right to vote, electing representatives to the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels. This election takes place at the beginning of spring, in the context of building a streamlined, efficient, and strong two-tiered local government. I believe this will be an event that opens a new journey with strong reforms, meeting the expectations of the people.”
In the same spirit, Son Vi commune, the most remote commune in the province, is also bustling with excitement and joy as it looks forward to election day. Comrade Phung Duc Thang, Vice Chairman of the People's Council of Son Vi commune, shared: "The propaganda work has been implemented very early, reaching 100% of the villages, aiming to create a vibrant atmosphere of competition leading up to election day. The election day coincides with the beginning of a new year, thus creating a lively atmosphere for various movements in the commune."
At village cultural centers, along roads, and in residential areas, national flags and Party flags are displayed. People are diligently cleaning and tidying up village roads and alleys to create a green, clean, and beautiful environment to welcome election day. Comrade Dung Thi Van, Secretary of the Party branch of Co Tang village, Son Vi commune – who has directly participated in preparing and leading two elections since assuming the role of village Party branch secretary – recalled, "Previously, we arrived at the village cultural center very early to vote, but this year, with the commune merger and the increase in the number of villages, we will conduct voting in clusters of villages. Currently, the village has prepared all the necessary conditions to mobilize and educate people to vote according to regulations. Everyone is eagerly awaiting March 15, 2026, to exercise their right to self-governance through their ballot."
This spring, along with the blossoming peach and apricot flowers, the people of Tuyen Quang feel renewed hope. Hope for a democratic, fair, and wise election. Hope for worthy representatives who will contribute to building a streamlined, effective, and efficient state apparatus for the happiness of the people. Spring 2026, the Year of the Horse, a spring of hope, of expectation, and of votes that reflect the people's hearts.
