Lai Chau: Enhancing the value of OCOP products in Nam Nhun district

The "One Commune One Product" (OCOP) program has been actively contributing to the rural economic development of Nam Nhun district, Lai Chau province.

Currently, Nam Nhun district is proud of 12 OCOP products meeting 3-star standards from 5 entities operating in communes such as Le Loi, Nam Hang and Muong Mo. To maintain and enhance the value of OCOP products, Nam Nhun district People's Committee has implemented many effective support solutions.

One of the most important goals is to improve product quality, thereby increasing competitiveness in the market. The district government has assigned specialized agencies to implement support programs to encourage investors to improve production processes, ensure food safety and control quality from raw materials to finished products.

In addition to improving quality, the district also pays special attention to building brands and protecting intellectual property for OCOP products. The district People's Committee has a plan to guide entities to build standard production processes, aiming to upgrade products from 3 stars to 4 stars and towards 5 stars. The application of technology, digital transformation in production, market connection and traceability are also emphasized in the development plans.

In addition, OCOP producers also receive support from authorities at all levels in expanding market development. The district has connected producers with businesses, supermarkets, e-commerce platforms, as well as organized fairs and exhibitions to introduce products and seek partners. Along with that, the subjects have taken advantage of social networking platforms to promote and sell, creating many diverse forms to introduce products to consumers.

Developing community and ecological tourism is also one of the effective solutions of Nam Nhun district in consuming OCOP products. Through many tours, typical agricultural products and OCOP products have been widely introduced. Experiencing the actual production process and enjoying the products on the spot has attracted a large number of tourists from inside and outside the province.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Giap, Vice Chairman of Nam Nhun District People's Committee, the OCOP program is one of the important solutions to realize the goal of restructuring the agricultural sector towards modernity and sustainability. The district always creates favorable conditions to support organizations and individuals to upgrade and improve products towards quality standardization.
