On November 20, the People's Committee of Lam Dong province issued a decision to declare a natural disaster emergency for landslides on Mimosa Pass (Km226+600-Km226+800 and Km249+932-Km249+968), National Highway 20, Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat.
These are two locations where serious landslides occurred due to the impact of heavy rains lasting from November 15 to 19, directly threatening traffic safety and people's lives.
Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee requested to immediately deploy emergency measures to respond and overcome the consequences, in order to ensure traffic safety, limit damage to property and people's lives caused by natural disasters or construction incidents.
Put up danger warning signs, strictly prohibiting unauthorized organizations and individuals from entering the danger warning area; evacuate households around the landslide area to a safe place. At the same time, organize a 24/7 on-duty team at the construction site; monitor, track and evaluate the development of natural disasters; displacement, cracks, and landslides at the construction site.

At the same time, organize traffic flow and lanes, ensure traffic circulation and safety when participating in traffic; determine the cause and propose solutions to handle, repair and overcome to ensure immediate traffic, no congestion. Regularly update weather conditions, natural disaster developments; displacement and cracking of construction items, promptly report to the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Civil Defense Command for information and direction.
Assign the Department of Construction to coordinate with Project Management Board 85 - Ministry of Construction (project investor) and related units to survey, evaluate, and determine the preliminary cause; propose solutions to handle and ensure immediate traffic safety to advise the Provincial People's Committee to issue an Emergency Construction Order.

The People's Committee of Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat coordinates with relevant agencies to resolutely organize the immediate relocation and evacuation of households in the foothills, mountains, and areas with steep slopes and dangers in the above-mentioned landslide areas, to ensure absolute safety for people's lives and property. Absolutely do not let people return until safety is guaranteed .
Departments, branches, sectors, the Provincial Military Command, and the Provincial Police, according to their functions and duties, proactively develop emergency response plans and overcome the consequences of natural disasters.

As reported by Nhan Dan Newspaper, on the evening of November 19, at the section Km226+600-Km226+800 (right of the line), the slope and the roadbed and surface of Mimosa Pass continued to collapse with a length of about 70m and a depth of 40m, breaking the entire roadbed, surface and slope, within the scope of the landslide on November 18.
At the section Km249+932-Km249+968 on the left side of the route, the roadbed slope collapsed about 36m long and 6m deep; the road surface sank about 30cm, at risk of widening.

Currently, the People's Committee of Lam Dong province has declared a natural disaster emergency at several locations on three mountain passes, including Mimosa, Prenn, D'Ran and several other locations on National Highway 20, the gateway to the center of Lam Dong province.
