Prolonged heavy rains in Lam Dong have caused landslides and erosion in many sections of the highway, threatening traffic safety. The Vietnam Road Administration and relevant agencies are urgently implementing temporary solutions and surveying long-term solutions.
On September 16, according to information from the Vietnam Road Administration, in recent days, in Lam Dong province (old Phan Thiet city area), there has been continuous heavy rain with high intensity and prolonged duration, causing some sections of the embankment on the highway to be seriously eroded.
Recorded on September 13, this situation has directly affected traffic safety, especially at Km213+750 (P), Km213+850 (P) and many other points on the route.
Faced with complicated developments, Road Management Area IV and Road Management Office IV.1 quickly directed maintenance units to conduct inspections and reviews of the entire route, identifying potential safety risks.
At the same time, the authorities coordinated with Project Management Board 7 and related units to immediately deploy temporary solutions to ensure smooth traffic. Measures such as filling soil at eroded points and pouring reinforced concrete were promptly implemented on September 13, minimizing the risk of the incident spreading.
However, the temporary solution is only a short-term response. To overcome the long-term problem, on September 16, Road Management Area IV directed Road Management Office IV.1 to coordinate with Project Management Board 7 to conduct a field survey.
Currently, Project Management Board 7 and the consulting unit are continuing to assess the current situation and research technical solutions to thoroughly handle the erosion situation, ensuring the safety of traffic structures as well as traffic activities on the highway.
