Candidates who are really interested still choose to register directly.
Master Tran Van Tu, Principal of Ho Chi Minh City College of Economics , said that this year the school will implement two forms of admission in parallel: admission on the system of the Ministry of Education and Training and direct admission. Up to now, the school has received more than 2,700 wishes on the common system, a number that is considered quite high compared to the average of colleges.
“In reality, candidates who are really interested often choose to register directly at the school. Through the survey, the majority of candidates who have registered for their first and second choices have come to complete the admission procedures. On the contrary, those who have registered for many choices are still waiting for the results,” Master Tu shared, adding that the school has recruited about 60% of its target and is expected to end enrollment on September 15.
Similarly, Saigon College of Tourism also recorded 1,700 wishes on the common system. Master Phan Buu Toan, Vice Principal of the school, said that this year's quota of the school is 1,400, divided into 3 phases. The school will consider admission in parallel on the common admission system of the Ministry of Education and Training (40%) and admission based on academic records (60%). "This is the first year of participation, we still cannot determine the level of 'virtuality', so we are working and gaining experience," Master Toan added.
Principal of Saigon Tourism College, Master Ngo Thi Quynh Xuan, added: “Every year, the school still welcomes candidates to register before the university results are out. There are two main groups: students who graduated from high school in previous years, registered late so there are no more quotas; and students this year who decided to study at college from the beginning.”
Meanwhile, Dr. Dinh Van De, acting principal of Ly Tu Trong College in Ho Chi Minh City, acknowledged that this year is the first year that colleges have participated in the common admission system of the Ministry of Education and Training. However, the information has not been widely communicated to candidates, and when applying for admission on the common system, students are still more interested in universities. "The school mainly considers admission based on academic records. Besides waiting for results on the system, candidates can also come to the school to register to study directly at the school," Dr. De added.
