Offering lanterns to celebrate the birth of Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara will take place on the evening of March 30.

The art program called “ Tay Ninh – Song of Pride” will take place at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at the Ba Den Mountain Cable Car Station Square with special art performances performed by famous artists such as Noo Phuoc Thinh, Ho Quynh Huong, Duc Tuan, Erik, Phuc Bo… The program will be broadcast live on Nhan Dan Television, Tay Ninh Radio and Television and several other local television stations.

Tay Ninh will set off fireworks at the Ba Den Mountain cable car station on the evening of March 30.

“Tay Ninh – Song of Pride” is an art program jointly organized by Nhan Dan Newspaper and Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee to review history, honor the glorious revolutionary tradition of the army and people in the struggle to protect the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, and at the same time introduce the image of a heroic Tay Ninh, beautiful Tay Ninh with attractive destinations and unique cultural heritage values.

This will be the first time the public in Tay Ninh will be able to admire modern lighting effects through 3D Mapping projection technology, recreating historical moments at the foot of the majestic Ba Den mountain.

Accordingly, famous destinations in Tay Ninh such as Ba Den Mountain - the highest mountain in the South associated with the legend of Linh Son Thanh Mau Bodhisattva and a majestic spiritual complex on the top of the mountain, or the Holy See - the symbolic work of Cao Dai religion will be vividly recreated through this unique technology.

Chhay dam drum dance will be recreated with 3D Mapping technology at the art program.

If visitors have ever explored the cultural heritages of Tay Ninh such as Don Ca Tai Tu, Chhay Dam drum dance or Khmer dances during festivals at Sun World Ba Den Mountain tourist area, then with the program "Tay Ninh - Song of Pride", 3D Mapping technology will recreate these heritages, through a very new folk dance. The spontaneous and creative combination of traditional cultural sediments with modern technology, creating new and overwhelming visual effects is the unique highlight of the program.

In particular, the end of the program “Tay Ninh – Song of Pride” will be a 15-minute high-altitude fireworks display, bringing a night of eye-catching art to the people and tourists coming to Ba Den Mountain on this day.

Diverse experiences on the occasion of the birthday of Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara

Taking place at the square of the cable car station of Ba Den Mountain, the art program aimed at celebrating the 49th anniversary of the liberation of the South is also an opportunity for people and tourists to come to Ba Den Mountain - the leading pilgrimage destination in the South on the occasion of the birth of Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara.

From the morning of March 30, visitors can go to Ba Den Mountain to make a pilgrimage to pray for peace at the Ba Pagoda system with Linh Son Tien Thach Tu and Dien Ba, which are 300 years old, to worship the statue of Buddha Tay Bo Da Son - the symbol of Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara appearing on the sacred mountain top.

Here, visitors can explore 3D Mapping technology at the Buddhist exhibition center with vivid 3D images of the formation of the universe projected on a 20-meter diameter dome screen with a Dome resolution of up to 16 million pixels.

From 5pm on March 30, a lantern offering ceremony to celebrate the Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva's birthday will be held on a large scale on the highest mountain in the South, where visitors will join in the sacred lantern-passing and releasing rituals by the stream around the Prajnaparamita Sutra pillar, at the foot of the statue of Buddha Tay Bo Da Son.

This is the moment for participants in the lantern offering ceremony to pay their respects to Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara - the embodiment of compassion to save all living beings and to send wishes for a peaceful and lucky life.

At Ba Den Mountain, offering lanterns has become a familiar and meaningful ritual that takes place every Saturday evening. Thousands of lanterns with wishes written by the locals are lit up in the dim space on top of Ba Mountain, creating a sacred scene, attracting tourists and Buddhists to the highest mountain in the South on weekends.

After the lantern offering ceremony, visitors can take the cable car down to the departure station square, join in the explosive atmosphere of the art program "Tay Ninh - Song of Pride" and admire the eye-catching fireworks display.
