Scuba diving to see corals, the underwater world ... will become a wonderful experience right in Thanh Lan (Co To) this summer, instead of tourists having to travel far to the Southern region as before. This is a tourism product deployed for the first time in Co To as well as in the Northern tourist areas, expected to create a difference and attraction for Co To tourism .
For a long time, tourists have heard about the extremely rich and unique coral reef ecosystem in Co To, suitable for tourists who love to explore. Recently, efforts to protect and preserve have resulted in the gradual recovery of some coral reefs, leading to the recovery of the marine ecosystem here.
“Co To is famous for its clear blue sea water, making it easy to dive and see coral. Therefore, in order to promote the natural beauty of Co To and to create attraction for the peaceful and beautiful Thanh Lan island, we are the pioneers in designing this diving tour to enhance the experience, hoping to contribute to protecting and preserving the "treasure" of the sea, while creating more livelihoods for local people" - Mr. Pham Minh Duc, Director of Co To Discovery Company Limited (Co To town, Co To district), the unit operating this tour, shared.
With that in mind, the unit has built the itinerary, choosing to zone in clear water areas with beautiful corals in the best preserved areas in Thanh Lan (Co To) to design the program. The necessary work for a thoughtful and safe diving trip will be deployed by the Company from August 2022.
To join the tour, from the center of Thanh Lan island commune, visitors take an electric car along the winding sunny coastal road. The destinations and areas chosen for diving are Hon Chim (2ha wide), Vung Tron beach (2ha), Ngoc Trai beach (3ha) invested, managed and exploited by the Company. These are areas with beautiful landscapes, clear blue water, many protected corals restored to reefs, beautiful ecosystems under the ocean... When the sun rises, you can clearly see the seabed through the clear blue water.
The experience of diving to see coral is also easy for tourists even if you are not a good swimmer. The easiest and simplest form is snorkeling, the most popular way that most tourists choose because of its convenience and suitability for all subjects. With this diving method, tourists are equipped with diving goggles, snorkel and protective gear to help them float or dive into the sea to see coral reefs and marine ecosystems at moderate depths, under 5m.
An interesting and highly safe form is walking on the seabed. With this experience, you will be equipped with specialized equipment that allows you to breathe, observe and talk comfortably as if you were on land and even your hair will remain dry after the tour ends. If you are good at swimming and diving, you can choose to dive with oxygen tanks and specialized clothing to explore the nooks and crannies of the ocean.
In the clear blue water, under the sunlight, the hidden beauty of the vast ocean will appear. Notably, all activities of tourists are closely followed by the instructions of coaches and guides. Before diving, tourists are taught how to wear life jackets, diving goggles, fins, how to breathe underwater, safe diving skills, etc.
In addition to coral diving, this tour also has accompanying activities to enhance the experience, such as: Fishing, sub-rowing, kayaking, jet skiing, camping on the pristine Ba Chau beach, the most beautiful on the island.
Mr. Duc said that in order to develop this service into a product, the company invited experienced trainers in Nha Trang to accompany and support the training of employees. Currently, the unit has 7 trainers with international diving certificates. The company also established regulations for coral diving, equipped with signs, buoys, and flags to limit diving to ensure the safety of tourists.
At the same time, a 400m2 "floating headquarters" with a roof can serve up to 200 guests/day, gather and anchor inland waterway vehicles, and provide first aid, communication, and restroom facilities for visitors. In addition, the company will also allocate a portion of its profits to regularly organize community awareness raising activities, coral restoration activities, and create artificial reefs to preserve and develop coral reefs.
Currently, services and infrastructure for coral diving in Thanh Lan have been basically built and completed, and are expected to be put into operation soon, serving tourists in the summer tourist season of 2023.
