The peak tourist season begins, beaches, resorts or tourist areas are places where many tourists come to visit and have fun. At Ha Long City has 4 beaches that meet the standards of tourist beaches, including: Ocean Park Beach, Tuan Chau Beach, Soi Sim Beach and Ti Top Beach. To ensure safety for residents and visitors, the City Public Services Management Board is assigned to manage the beaches, issue regulations, establish rescue teams, environmental sanitation teams, etc. Units directly managing the beaches such as: Ha Long Bay Management Board, Ha Long Sun Company Limited... invest in upgrading facilities, such as shower houses, observation towers, buoys, boundary flags, signs, warning signs, etc.; ensuring environmental sanitation and urban landscape. Rescue teams at the beaches are all well-trained, fully staffed, regularly patrol, and promptly remind residents and visitors when participating in activities at the beaches.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism also established a working group to organize peak periods of general inspection of the work of ensuring the tourism business environment and safety conditions at beaches and swimming pools in the area, in order to ensure a healthy and safe tourism business environment, and improve the quality of service to tourists. The subjects of the inspection are 30 tourist accommodation establishments with swimming pools and beaches serving tourists in key tourist destinations of the province such as: Ha Long, Cam Pha, Mong Cai, Van Don, Hai Ha, Co To.
Ms. Tang Thi Tuyet, Chief Inspector of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said: The general inspection took place from April 23-29, focusing on compliance with regulations on tourism accommodation business, ensuring service quality, security, safety for tourists and ensuring safety at beaches and swimming pools. In particular, we carefully checked the documents and certificates of the rescue team, reminded and resolutely handled units that did not meet the requirements for drowning prevention for people and tourists.
Since the beginning of the year, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has inspected a total of 9 relic and festival sites; 3 inspections and reviews of 20 tourist accommodation establishments, 4 beaches, 45 tour guides, and 9 tourist areas/sites.
Mr. Nguyen Van Minh, Director of Sun World Ha Long Entertainment Complex, shared: To ensure the safety of visitors, since the beginning of March, we have repaired and invested in facilities in the Water Park area. In addition, we have recruited and thoroughly trained a professional and methodical rescue team, actively trained and coached continuously. At the same time, we have arranged rescue forces at all key locations to monitor, control and ensure the safety of visitors during their time playing.
On April 28, the Provincial People's Committee issued Directive No. 04/CT-UBND requesting localities, especially coastal areas, to regularly inspect and monitor safety at beaches and eco-tourism areas; install warning signs, demarcate safe areas with buoys, and disseminate safe swimming and rescue skills in the community.
In the coming time, the province will continue to strengthen state management of tourism, entertainment and swimming activities, especially at spontaneous beaches or areas that do not ensure safety conditions. Continue to direct the review, classification and establishment of a danger warning system, clearly zoning areas where swimming is allowed and not allowed; deploy forces on duty at crowded beaches. Develop and implement programs to disseminate knowledge and skills on drowning prevention, raising awareness of self-protection for people, students, teenagers and tourists, especially during the summer and festivals. Strengthen inter-sectoral coordination between functional agencies, tourism and service enterprises and tourist group organizers, to strictly control tourism programs, ensuring strict compliance with safety regulations.
