Mong Cai: Immigration activities grow strongly at Bac Luan II border gate

According to the Mong Cai International Border Gate Management Board, since the beginning of the year, immigration and exit activities through border gates and openings in Mong Cai City have been vibrant, safe and smooth. As of May 31, the total number of people entering and exiting through border gates and openings in the city reached more than 3 million, of which, more than 1.5 million people entered the country and more than 1.5 million people left the country.

At Mong Cai International Border Gate (Bac Luan I), the cumulative number of people entering and exiting the country from January 1 to May 31, 2025 was more than 2.8 million, a slight decrease of 2% compared to the same period last year. Of which, the number of entries reached more than 1.4 million and the number of exits reached more than 1.4 million. Vietnamese people accounted for a high proportion with nearly 1.43 million, followed by Chinese citizens with nearly 1.41 million.

At the Bac Luan II bridge border gate, impressive growth was recorded with 170,918 arrivals, an increase of 92% over the same period in 2024. Of which, 76,272 arrivals and 94,646 departures were recorded. Vietnamese people accounted for a large proportion, especially in the group using passports. The sharp increase in arrivals and departures at the Bac Luan II bridge border gate has contributed to reducing the load on the Bac Luan I border gate.

At the Km3+4 Hai Yen opening, the total number of people entering and exiting reached 46,632. Both the number of people entering and exiting was 23,316, of which Vietnamese people accounted for nearly 71%.

The recovery and growth of XNC activities not only shows the increasing demand for trade and tourism between the two sides of the border, but also demonstrates the great efforts of Mong Cai City in management, coordination, and creating maximum convenience for people and vehicles passing through the border gate.
