On behalf of the Vietnamese Embassy and the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic, there were Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech Republic Duong Hoai Nam; representatives of the Union of Vietnamese Associations in the Czech Republic, and the Vietnamese Language Center in Prague.

At the meeting, the delegation listened to a detailed report on the activities of the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic. The Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic has recently been considered a model community for the successful integration of the foreign community in this country.

The Embassy and the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic always demonstrate the spirit of mutual love and support of the Vietnamese people, especially during the Covid-19 period, and have donated to Vietnamese people affected by storms and floods. The development of the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic is considered the "soft power" of the country, a significant resource for the country.

The issue of teaching Vietnamese to generations of Vietnamese people in the Czech Republic was also discussed. Accordingly, the Embassy and the Vietnamese Community in the Czech Republic always focus on teaching activities, maintaining the Vietnamese language, and supporting books and notebooks for Vietnamese language learners.

Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Phan Tam affirmed that he will accompany the Embassy and the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic, especially in activities to maintain the Vietnamese language.

At the working session, delegates also discussed the Czech Republic's publishing market, book publishing trends in this Central European country as well as the reading needs of Czech people, especially the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic (the third largest ethnic minority in the Czech population structure).

Accordingly, the value of the Czech Republic's publishing market in 2025 is estimated at 8.6 - 8.8 billion CZK. The printed book market still accounts for about 4/5 of total revenue, but revenue from e-books is increasingly taking a larger proportion, reflecting a change in consumer behavior.

E-publishing is the fastest growing market segment by 2025, currently worth around CZK 700 million, or 12% of the total market. Online purchases account for over 55% of total book sales.

At the meeting, Director of the Department of Publishing, Printing and Distribution Nguyen Nguyen proposed that the Department of Publishing, Printing and Distribution will have practical support activities for the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic, including building a library system, supporting Vietnamese language teaching materials for foreigners and documents serving the learning process...

Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Phan Tam expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the Embassy and the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic to spread Vietnamese culture, and pledged to accompany and support these activities in the future.
