Spreading action for workers' health

Along with taking care of life and welfare, the trade unions at all levels of Da Nang city have recently paid special attention to the care, protection and improvement of health for workers and laborers. Many health examination and consultation programs have been implemented, helping workers enjoy quality medical services, thereby feeling secure in their work and long-term commitment to the enterprise.

Taking care of workers

Since the beginning of 2025, the City Labor Federation has coordinated with the health sector and localities to organize dozens of periodic health check-ups in industrial parks and clusters.

Recently, on October 14, the City Labor Federation coordinated with the Center for Disease Control to organize a free cervical and breast cancer screening program for 180 female union members and workers in difficult circumstances in industrial zones. The selected subjects were women aged 21-60, with priority given to the age group of 30-55, to help them access early medical services and prevent dangerous diseases commonly found in women.

This activity has the participation of many enterprises such as Branch 2 of TBS An Giang Joint Stock Company, Central Seafood Import-Export Joint Stock Company, D&N Food Processing Company Limited, Long Khai Joint Stock Company Branch, Monstarlab Vietnam Company Limited... Each unit sent union members to participate according to the allocated quota, demonstrating the spirit of accompanying the program "For the health of female workers".

Previously, on October 4, the Trade Union of Huy Hoang Garment Company (Nam Phuoc Commune) coordinated with the Board of Directors to organize health check-ups for more than 500 union members and workers with a total cost of more than 210 million VND. This is an annual activity to detect occupational diseases and chronic diseases early, helping workers monitor their health periodically, improve labor productivity and ensure long-term health safety.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Ly, Director of the company said: With the motto "Healthy workers - Strong enterprise", Huy Hoang Garment Company's Trade Union always maintains a regular collective health check-up program, demonstrating the practical concern of the company's leaders and grassroots trade unions, contributing to building a safe, friendly and cohesive working environment.

In a series of activities to celebrate the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union, the City Labor Federation organized the program "Union Meal" at the Chin Huei Plastic Industry Joint Stock Company Branch (Hoa Khanh Industrial Park), providing 384 nutritious meals, ensuring food hygiene and safety, with a total cost of more than 11.5 million VND from the union and socialized sources.

Mr. Tran Van Do, a worker at the company, shared: “The meal was simple but filled with warm feelings. We, the workers, felt respected, listened to, and had more motivation to work better.”

Also on this occasion, the City Labor Federation presented 10 gifts (each worth 1 million VND) to union members in difficult circumstances, spreading the spirit of sharing and solidarity between the union organization and workers.

Building a humane working environment

Not only organizing centralized health check-ups, trade unions at all levels also promote propaganda, provide guidance on self-care skills, occupational disease prevention, support medicine, gifts and organize occupational safety and hygiene training sessions.

Vice President of the City Labor Federation Ho Thi Lan Huong emphasized: “Taking care of the material and spiritual life and health of workers is always a continuous task of the trade union organization. Through programs such as "Union Meals" or "Periodic Health Check-ups", we hope that workers will clearly feel the companionship, thereby feeling secure, attached and devoted to the enterprise for a long time. Workers are the direct workforce in the industrial environment, often exposed to noise and high intensity, so regular health check-ups and consultations are extremely necessary."

Practical activities such as the “Your Health” program not only help workers prevent occupational diseases early, but also spread the spirit of solidarity and social responsibility in the business community. Each program is another step to connect the union – business – workers, together aiming at the goal of building a safe, humane and sustainable working environment.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong, a worker at Chin Huei Plastic Joint Stock Company, said: “Thanks to the health check-ups organized by the union, we are guided by doctors on proper diet and rest, and some people even detect illnesses in time. These actions make us workers feel that the union is truly close and dedicated.”

With the active participation of trade unions at all levels, the health sector and businesses, health care for workers in Da Nang is increasingly going into depth, becoming a beauty in trade union activities, contributing to improving the quality of human resources - an important foundation for the city's development in the new period.
