Attracted more than 1.3 million candidates to participate

The contest to learn about the theme of 70 years of the Liberation Day of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024) was organized by the Hanoi Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, assigned to the Hanoi Party Committee's Propaganda Department to direct and coordinate with the Hanoi Youth Union.

The contest is an important part of a series of activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital. Since its launch via the online platform tuyengiaothudo.com.vn and after 3 months of organizing the preliminary round (from May to the end of July 2024), the contest has attracted more than 1.3 million contestants nationwide.

During the 3 months of the online preliminary round, the contest received the attention and participation of all classes of people. In particular, the contest spread to the people of the whole country, attracting many contestants from provinces and cities to participate and win high prizes such as: Binh Duong, Thanh Hoa, Soc Trang, Can Tho, Ho Chi Minh City ...

The content of the contest's question system was highly appreciated by contestants for its amount of knowledge and diversity in the way questions were asked. It provided a lot of useful information about the thousand-year history of civilization and the revolutionary struggle, the stages of construction and development of the Capital. The contest has become an important political activity, attracting a large number of participants, diverse in contestants and spreading widely among the people of the whole country.

After the preliminary round, 16 excellent contestants participated in the final round and were divided into 4 teams with names imbued with love for Hanoi, such as: "Cultural Hanoi", "Forever Bright Capital", "I Love Hanoi", "Heroic Spirit of Thang Long", competing fiercely for each score in the 4 rounds. The contestants came from different localities and units, diverse in professions and ages, but all shared a passionate heart and a love for the beloved Capital.

Fully apply technology in the exam

The final round of the competition was organized with many special features. Specifically, there were 2 members of the Jury including 5 “Expert Judges” and 27 “Collective Judges”. The scores of the teams in the final round were evaluated at a ratio of 50/50.

Secretary of the Central Youth Union, President of the Central Vietnam Student Association Nguyen Minh Triet and Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong awarded the First Prize to the team "I love Hanoi".

In addition, the Organizing Committee also focuses on fully applying technology and digital transformation in the competitions. The competitions are built on software, the way the teams compete and the judges score are also completely implemented by technology. After each competition, the results and rankings are announced on the LED screen, helping the teams, judges and audiences to follow along, increasing the appeal.

For the contestants participating in the final round, the competition is an opportunity to express their love for Hanoi, to exchange and learn about the history and culture of Thang Long - Hanoi and to contribute ideas and suggestions to build and develop the capital.

Sharing after the contest, Do Thi Thin, Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union (Office of the Party Committee of Dong Lo Commune, Ung Hoa District) and also a member of the "I Love Hanoi" Team - the team that won the First Prize, said that the final round of the contest requires contestants to have not only knowledge but also propaganda and mobilization skills. This is also a way to visually and vividly propagate the history, culture, economy and society of the Capital to a large number of people and spread the love of Hanoi to many people.

 

After expanding its administrative boundaries, Hanoi Capital, in addition to being a Capital of stature and being in the Top 17 largest Capitals in the world, also embraces the cultural features of many sacred lands with 5,922 relics, 1,793 intangible cultural heritages, along with 12 special national relics.

Mr. Luong Cong Viet - Department of Party and Political Affairs (Hanoi City Police) - member of the "Heroic Spirit of Thang Long" Team assessed that this is a very practical and useful contest. The contest helps teams have the opportunity to learn and research documents about Hanoi's history. Thereby, in the process of learning and training, young people feel the need to be more responsible for the development of the Capital.

According to the assessment of the Head of the Propaganda Department of the City Party Committee Nguyen Doan Toan, since its launch, the contest has become an important political activity, attracting a large number of people from all walks of life in the capital, with diverse contestants and spreading widely among the people of the whole country.

Through the contest, the love for Hanoi will be further spread, helping each citizen of the capital understand, love and be proud of each glorious historical period of the capital. From there, we will understand the responsibility and mission of each citizen before the glorious history left by our ancestors, before the bright future of the Vietnamese people. Especially, promoting the strength of the great national unity bloc, mobilizing all resources, seizing opportunities, overcoming challenges, building the capital and our country to be more and more dignified and beautiful as beloved President Ho Chi Minh always wished.
