(HQ Online) - Assessment shows that although the total import-export turnover through border gates in Lang Son province during the Lunar New Year holiday week decreased, the total import-export turnover from January 1 to February 15, 2024 reached more than 6.683 billion USD, an increase of 42.2% over the same period in 2023.
Accordingly, during the Lunar New Year holiday week (from February 9 to 15), the number of vehicles carrying import and export goods decreased sharply. However, some border gates in Lang Son province still operated to carry out customs clearance for pre-registered import and export goods.

Statistics show that the total number of vehicles carrying import and export goods during the Tet holiday week reached 944, down 86.6% compared to the previous week. Of which, the number of vehicles carrying export goods was 641 and the number of vehicles carrying import goods was 303. The total import and export turnover of all types during the week from February 9 to February 15 reached 114.9 million USD, down 87.3% compared to the week before Tet holiday.
In particular, the total import-export turnover opened at Lang Son Customs Department during the Lunar New Year holiday week reached 7.85 million USD. From the beginning of the year to February 15, the total import-export turnover opened at Lang Son Customs Department reached 544.04 million USD.
After the Lunar New Year holiday, starting from February 16, the number of vehicles carrying import and export goods cleared through customs increased compared to the previous day with 555 vehicles cleared through customs, including 348 vehicles carrying export goods and 207 vehicles carrying import goods.
Representative of Huu Nghi Border Gate Customs Branch, currently the unit handles and supports about 100 container trucks to clear customs through the border gate for import and export of goods every day. In the export direction, most of the registered goods are agricultural products and especially in the opposite direction, they are mainly machinery components.
To ensure support for fast customs clearance, Huu Nghi Customs has arranged for officers to take turns directly receiving and handling procedures for import and export goods to ensure the fastest way, avoiding additional costs and prolonging time for businesses.
