Khanh Hoa Provincial leaders work with Asiana Airlines Company (Korea)

On the afternoon of September 26, Mr. Nguyen Tan Tuan - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province had a working session with representatives of Asiana Airlines Company (the second largest airline in Korea). Accompanying him were Mr. Chau Ngo Anh Nhan - Director of the Department of Planning and Investment; Mr. Duong Nam Khanh - Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Ms. Trinh Lan Phuong - Head of Business Department of Cam Ranh International Airport. At the meeting, Mr. Cho Yong Han gave an overview of the company's operations. Accordingly, in Southeast Asia, Asiana Airlines is operating 15 routes. In December 2019, the company operated a direct flight from Incheon to Khanh Hoa, but due to the pandemic, the airline's flights to Khanh Hoa were temporarily suspended. It is expected that the airline's direct flights from Korea to Cam Ranh will resume from October 2, 2024 with a frequency of 4 flights/week and 1 flight/day from March 2025.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tan Tuan welcomed Asiana Airlines' plan to reopen the Incheon - Cam Ranh direct flight and pledged to support the company's operations in Khanh Hoa province. At the same time, Mr. Nguyen Tan Tuan also briefly presented the tourism development situation, especially the number of Korean tourists to Khanh Hoa province in the first 6 months of 2024; introduced development spaces, creating opportunities for Asiana Airlines to operate direct flights from Incheon to Cam Ranh all year round.

Also here, the leaders of the Department of Planning and Investment introduced to Asiana Airlines the strategic location, potential, and development advantages of the province with a synchronous transportation system of roads, waterways, airways, and railways. Convenient transportation helps open up new tourist attractions for Korean tourists not only in Khanh Hoa but also in neighboring provinces. This is an opportunity for Asiana Airlines to operate direct flights from Incheon to Cam Ranh with higher frequency.

Representative of Cam Ranh International Airport, Ms. Trinh Lan Phuong shared: “Cam Ranh International Airport is looking forward to welcoming the leaders of Asiana Airlines to attend the welcoming ceremony for the 9 millionth passenger to Khanh Hoa on October 1. At the same time, Cam Ranh International Airport will coordinate with Asiana Airlines to organize the welcoming ceremony for the airline's first flight back to Khanh Hoa on October 2. Cam Ranh International Airport will also provide maximum support for the Company's operations on the Incheon - Cam Ranh route.”
