Quang Nam provincial leaders received leaders of Champasak province (Laos) who visited Quang Nam to wish them a happy New Year.

On the morning of January 15, Chairman of Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung received a delegation from Champasak Province (Laos) led by Mr. Somboun Hueangvongsa, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Deputy Governor, Chairman of the Laos - Vietnam Friendship Association of Champasak Province. Attending the reception were Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Tran Xuan Vinh, representatives of relevant departments, agencies and branches of the province.

On the occasion of the traditional New Year of the Vietnamese people, on behalf of the Party Committee, government and people of Champasak province (Laos), Mr. Somboun Hueangvongsa sent best wishes and wished the Party Committee, government and people of Quang Nam a new year of peace and prosperity.

Mr. Somboun Hueangvongsa affirmed: Over the past time, under the leadership of the two Parties and the two Governments of Vietnam and Laos, the Party committees, authorities and people of the two provinces have always promoted the tradition of solidarity and special friendship, strengthening comprehensive cooperation in the fields of economy - society, national defense - security. Vice Governor of Champasak Province Somboun Hueangvongsa also expressed his sincere thanks for the attention, support and assistance of Quang Nam, which have contributed to fostering the great relationship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, especially in supporting infrastructure development, education, human resource training, and maintaining national defense and security in the border area.

On behalf of the leaders of Quang Nam province, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung expressed his joy and excitement and thanked the Party Committee, government and people of Champasak province for their good feelings towards Quang Nam. At the same time, he informed about the outstanding results of the socio-economic development situation in 2024 and the orientation in the coming time. Regarding the East-West Economic Corridor expansion project, Chairman of the Quang Nam People's Committee Le Van Dung said: The Prime Minister of Vietnam has just agreed on the policy of implementing the project to renovate and upgrade National Highway 14D. This is the route connecting Ho Chi Minh Road with Nam Giang International Border Gate. The completion of the project will open up opportunities and potential for economic development between Quang Nam and the southern Lao provinces in general, and Champasak province (Laos) in particular.

Promoting the fine traditions of the two nations, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung affirmed that Quang Nam will continue to accompany Champasak province, strengthening the close, loyal and pure friendship between the two Parties, two States and people of the two provinces, which has been cultivated by many generations of leaders and people of the two provinces.
