False rumors about fake eggs need to be strictly handled

Recently, the Vietnam Poultry Association has sent Official Dispatch 08/VPA to the Ministry of Public Security , Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Science and Technology and media agencies to propose and handle false rumors about fake chicken eggs that have pushed many businesses and farming households into difficult situations.

According to the Vietnam Poultry Association, recently, some social networking sites have posted false information about "fake chicken eggs" and double-yolk chicken eggs. Immediately after this false information spread rapidly on social networks, the price of chicken eggs immediately dropped from 1,500 VND to 1,200 VND/egg but they are still difficult to sell. Specifically, the price of industrial chicken eggs sold at farms is lower than the cost price, from 1,400 - 1,500 VND/egg, now it has dropped to only 1,200 - 1,300 VND/egg. Many businesses and chicken farming households are suffering heavy losses and are at risk of bankruptcy.

In fact, in our country, in the past and present, there have been no fake eggs circulating on the market. Therefore, it can be affirmed that the information spread on social networks about the production of fake chicken eggs in the country is completely fabricated. Meanwhile, in the world today, there is no scientific evidence of the production of fake eggs that have the same characteristics as natural chicken eggs.

Therefore, the Vietnam Poultry Association recommends that the authorities need to investigate, verify and strictly handle those who have spread false information about fake eggs, not only causing confusion and anxiety for consumers but also causing great damage to the livestock industry.

At the same time, the Association also requested that press agencies promptly refute false rumors and increase propaganda to consumers about the nutritional value and benefits of poultry eggs for human health, contributing to stabilizing domestic livestock production.
