Promoting tourism advantages of 3 coastal communes and wards

Located on the coastal axis of Bac Lieu city, Nha Mat ward, Hiep Thanh commune and Vinh Trach Dong commune have many strengths to develop types of eco-tourism, agriculture , spiritual culture, entertainment. According to the project to arrange commune-level administrative units, the above 3 units will be merged with the new name of Hiep Thanh ward. This boundary merger is expected to open up space and favorable conditions to help the new ward better promote its advantages to create momentum for tourism.

COLORFUL TOURIST ROUTE

The whole province currently has 12 typical tourist destinations of the Mekong Delta region, of which 4 are located on the coastal tourist route of Bac Lieu city, including: Bac Lieu Wind Power Tourist Area, Xiem Can Pagoda (Vinh Trach Dong Commune), Nha Mat Tourist Area, Quan Am Phat Dai Area (Nha Mat Ward). Meanwhile, Hiep Thanh Commune is known to tourists from near and far for its hundred-year-old longan gardens, famous delicious A Mat pancakes and many clean vegetable growing cooperatives... suitable for exploiting eco-tourism models.

From the highlights of coastal tourism, Resolution 11 of the Provincial Party Committee identified this as one of the tourism spaces prioritized for development. In particular, private tourist destinations are regularly actively mobilized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the People's Committee of Bac Lieu City, creating favorable conditions for investment in upgrading facilities, service quality and labor force to meet the needs of tourist markets and the standards of typical regional tourist destinations.

In addition, a tourist route through longan gardens from Hiep Thanh commune to Vinh Trach Dong commune will also be formed in the near future, with services such as: taking an electric car to visit longan gardens, experiencing longan harvesting, watching how to make longan wine, enjoying traditional music and cuisine, watching Khmer art performances, etc.

In particular, the Nha Mat area has been approved by the Government to be included in the list of potential locations for development into a national tourist area. This is not only good news for Bac Lieu tourism but also creates a legal basis for the locality to attract investment in large-scale tourism projects.

BREAKTHROUGH FROM KEY PRODUCTS

To maximize the common and individual advantages of Nha Mat ward, Hiep Thanh commune and Vinh Trach Dong commune, the leaders of the three units have proactively developed the draft documents of the Congress of the Party Committee of Hiep Thanh ward in the new term. In particular, the tourism sector has many solutions to focus on exploiting marine resources such as: proposing a plan for the sea encroachment area; coordinating the implementation of the Project on eco-tourism, resorts, and entertainment in special-use forests and coastal protection forests until 2030, with a vision to 2035; developing models of sightseeing tourism and bivalve mollusk farming on coastal alluvial plains.

According to Mr. Le Truong Han - Secretary of the Party Committee of Hiep Thanh commune, the new ward will step up propaganda work to raise people's awareness of the importance and development requirements of the tourism industry. In particular, actively mobilizing people to strongly develop garden ecotourism services, linking production development with agricultural experience tourism, specifically developing the tour "A day as a farmer".

During the survey of the headquarters and working with the communes and wards preparing to merge in Bac Lieu City, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - Huynh Quoc Viet said that if Hiep Thanh Ward after the merger is exploited in the right direction, promoting the advantages of each old unit, tourism will develop strongly. To do so, the locality must calculate what are the main products and accompanying services to focus on investment. At the same time, he suggested the establishment of eco-tourism cooperatives, cooperatives for consumption and promotion of OCOP products at tourist destinations. In particular, he noted the need to thoroughly handle the situation of soliciting tourists to build a civilized and friendly tourism image.
