Previously, at 6:50 p.m. on October 17, after receiving a report from local residents about a tourist getting lost in the forest, the Hoang Lien Forest Protection Department's working group coordinated with the Ta Van Commune Police to develop a search plan and cordon off the area in Lot 9, Block 4, Sub-area 278, Sin Chai Village, Ta Van Commune.
Authorities discovered that Ms. Carina and Mr. Florian, foreign tourists, entered the special-use forest area without a permit and could not present legal documents related to tourism activities.

Due to minor injuries sustained during the journey, the tourist was unable to move out of the forest on his own. A search team of 10 people from Hoang Lien National Park, Ta Van Commune Police, security forces and forest rangers made efforts to reach the scene.

At 11 p.m., the working group approached the tourists, performed first aid, and brought them out of the forest safely.
The authorities have drawn up a record and informed tourists about violations of the law on tourism activities and special-use forest protection, and handled the case according to regulations.
