Lao Cai: Urban waste collection and treatment rate reaches over 95.3%

In recent times, environmental protection work in Lao Cai province has had many positive changes.

The rate of solid waste collected and treated in urban areas is over 95.3%, and in rural areas is over 75.5%. The rate of production and business establishments meeting environmental standards is over 37%.

Currently, some industrial parks in the province have invested in centralized wastewater treatment systems; common industrial waste is recycled and reused, contributing to reducing pollution and saving resources.

The rate of collected and treated domestic solid waste in urban areas reaches over 95.3%.

This result shows the efforts of the Lao Cai government and people in raising awareness of environmental protection, aiming at the goal of sustainable development, linking economic development with resource and environmental protection.
