The Law Committee approved the establishment of the Department of Information Technology and Audit Data under the State Audit on the basis of reorganizing the Information Technology Center.
At the end of the plenary session of the Law Committee on the afternoon of May 8, the National Assembly 's agency basically agreed on the need to improve the organization of the specialized unit in charge of information technology of the State Audit, accordingly, the Information Technology Center will be reorganized into the Department of Information Technology and Audit Data. At the 32nd session (April 2024), the National Assembly Standing Committee will give opinions on the content submitted by the State Audit. The Law Committee is assigned to review this content.
According to the State Audit's Report, after more than 22 years of operation, the Information Technology Center under the State Audit has matured in all aspects, increasingly performing its assigned functions and tasks, and the results achieved are relatively comprehensive, fundamental and important.
The reorganization of the Information Technology Center into the Department of Information Technology and Audit Data is an important step to promote the application and deployment of information technology in auditing activities, contributing to enhancing the professionalism, modernity and efficiency of auditing activities in the future; strengthening the enforcement of laws on information technology and concretizing the Party's guidelines and the State's laws and policies on the application of information technology and enhancing digital transformation in the activities of the State Audit.
According to Vice Chairman of the Law Committee Nguyen Truong Giang, Standing Member of the Law Committee, the submitted documents were elaborately and fully prepared, but after reviewing, there were opinions requesting a unified name. Some opinions requested clarification on the actual number of staff of the Information Technology Center as well as the basis and conditions for reorganizing it into a Department-level unit, because when the Department is established, the workload will be larger and heavier.
Chairman of the Law Committee Hoang Thanh Tung requested the State Audit to complete the dossier with a report explaining the receipt of comments in order to submit it to the National Assembly Standing Committee for consideration and comments at the next meeting.
