Today (October 14), Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry held the opening ceremony of the 2024-2025 school year, welcoming more than 10,000 new students of the K20 course.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dr. Phan Hong Hai, Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry, shared: “With the mission of training students who not only have high professional qualifications, but also have enough mind-mind-talent, I myself always wonder about how to create the best learning environment, have many policies to encourage learning and support students, to help them feel secure during their time studying at school.”

For that reason, Mr. Hai said that since 2023, the school has built a Student Support Fund according to new criteria. This fund is divided into many different types of scholarships such as scholarships for students with good academic performance, scholarships for new students, and scholarships for students who overcome difficulties and are studious.

Dr. Phan Hong Hai presented new student Ho Thanh Son with a motorbike - his prize from the Ho Chi Minh City Ornamental Plant Exhibition Contest.

“I hope that this fund will receive more support from businesses and philanthropists to promptly reward and encourage students with good academic performance or students with unexpected difficulties so that their studies are not interrupted. I express my hope that no student admitted to the university will have their studies interrupted due to financial difficulties,” the President of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry added.

Right at the opening ceremony, Dr. Phan Hong Hai presented new student Ho Thanh Son (Faculty of Mechanical Technology) with a motorbike, which was his personal prize from the special prize of the Ho Chi Minh City Ornamental Plant Exhibition Contest.

In addition, at the opening ceremony , Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry also awarded 9 students who were the top students this year. The top student of the whole school was also given a motorbike worth 50 million VND sponsored by the bank.
