Solemn welcoming ceremony for General Secretary and President of Laos Bounnhang Vorachith

On the morning of December 19, General Secretary and President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic Bounnhang Vorachith arrived in Hanoi , beginning an official friendship visit to Vietnam from December 19-21, at the invitation of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and President Tran Dai Quang.

The official welcoming ceremony for General Secretary and President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic Bounnhang Vorachith was solemnly held at the Presidential Palace according to the highest protocol reserved for heads of state. General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong presided over the welcoming ceremony.

Attending the welcoming ceremony on the Vietnamese side were comrades: Tran Quoc Vuong, Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat, Head of the Central Inspection Commission; Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh, Party Central Committee member, Vice President; Tong Thi Phong, Politburo member, Standing Vice President of the National Assembly; Vo Van Thuong, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission; Vuong Dinh Hue, Politburo member, Deputy Prime Minister; Nguyen Van Nen, Party Central Committee Secretary, Chief of the Central Office; Luong Cuong, Party Central Committee Secretary, Director of the General Political Department of the Vietnam People's Army; Hoang Binh Quan, Party Central Committee member, Head of the Central External Relations Commission; Dao Viet Trung, Party Central Committee member, Head of the President's Office ; and many comrades leading departments, ministries, branches, central agencies and Hanoi city.

At exactly 9:30 a.m., the motorcade carrying General Secretary and President Bounnhang Vorachith and the high-ranking delegation of the Lao People's Democratic Republic entered the Presidential Palace. General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong welcomed and invited General Secretary and President Bounnhang Vorachith to step up to the podium of honor.

After the national anthems of Laos and Vietnam, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and General Secretary and President Bounnhang Vorachith reviewed the honor guard of the Vietnam People's Army and introduced officials from both sides present at the welcoming ceremony.

After the welcoming ceremony, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and General Secretary and President of Laos Bounnhang Vorachith held talks at the Party Central Committee Headquarters./.
