Southern Fruit Festival takes place from June 1 to August 31

The Southern Fruit Festival is organized by Suoi Tien Cultural Tourism Joint Stock Company in coordination with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Ho Chi Minh City, the City Department of Tourism and the City Union of Friendship Organizations, taking place from June 1 to August 31, 2023.

Ms. Bui Thi To Trinh, Deputy General Director of Suoi Tien Cultural Tourism Joint Stock Company, said: The festival is an annual cultural and tourism event to introduce to visitors the unique, rich and diverse varieties of fruits from regions across the country; at the same time, honoring the achievements of farmers in the agricultural sector. The highlight of this year's festival is that Suoi Tien Cultural Tourism Joint Stock Company officially launched a collection of high-class, unique and rare fruits originating from countries around the world grown at Suoi Tien farm, applying the greenhouse growing system according to organic methods and modern technology systems, creating fresh, delicious, clean and safe products according to VietGap standards.

Within the framework of the festival, there will be activities such as: Specialty fruit market; fruit art contest; 12th Southern safe and delicious fruit contest; giant fruit collection; exhibition "Suoi Tien 30 years of formation and development"; parade "Bach qua Tu quy than tien hoi" and many special art programs... In particular, the Southern safe and delicious fruit contest is a familiar playground for gardeners in Ho Chi Minh City and 21 provinces and cities in the South. The contest aims to encourage gardeners to grow and apply scientific and technical advances in production, crossbreeding new varieties with good quality and high productivity.

In addition to the purpose of honoring and promoting delicious and safe fruit products of the South to a wide range of consumers, the contest is also an opportunity for producers and gardeners to seek opportunities for cooperation in investment in production, business, product consumption and to enhance the competitiveness of Vietnamese agricultural products.

This year, there will be 9 types of fruit divided into 22 varieties competing, including: grapefruit, orange, pineapple, mangosteen, longan, durian, dragon fruit, mango and jackfruit. As of May 24, 365 gardeners from 9 provinces and cities have registered to participate in the 12th Southern Safe and Delicious Fruit Contest with 420 samples...

Also at the press conference, the signing ceremony of people-to-people cooperation between the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations and Suoi Tien Cultural Joint Stock Company took place, aiming to further promote coordination activities, promote tourism, culture and history of Vietnam to international friends.
