Hoa Lu Cave (also known as Thung Lau, Thung Ong). In the past, General Dinh Tien Hoang used Hoa Lu cave as a place to train soldiers and recruit soldiers. After defeating and subduing 12 warlords, Dinh Tien Hoang proclaimed himself Van Thang Vuong, establishing Dai Co Viet - the first centralized feudal state of our country. Hoa Lu Cave was recognized as a national historical and cultural relic in 1996.
Located in the middle of Hoa Lu cave is the temple worshiping King Dinh Tien Hoang and the Dinh dynasty's civil and military council. Behind King Dinh's temple is the temple worshiping Zen master Nguyen Minh Khong - a person who made great contributions to the country's construction.
