Ly Nhan Communal House, Ly Nhan Village, Duc Tu Commune, Dong Anh District is a communal house worshiping A La Nuong De Phu Nhan - the general who assisted the Trung Sisters in fighting foreign invaders. Ly Nhan Communal House was ranked as a historical and cultural relic by the Ministry of Culture and Information in 1995.
The story goes that: In the early AD, our country was under the domination of the Han invaders, led by the Governor To Dinh. At that time, in Pha Lai village, Que Duong district, Tu Son prefecture, Kinh Bac province, there was a man named La, named Tien and his wife Trieu Thi Phung, who worked as fishermen. One day, they went to Duong An (today's Ly Nhan village) to catch fish, but it was dark, so they stopped at the temple at the beginning of the village.
That night, the god told them in a dream that they would soon receive good news. Sure enough, she became pregnant and later gave birth to a daughter, whom they named A La. A La was intelligent, studious, and both wise and brave. When she grew up, Mr. and Mrs. Tien Phung passed away.
When the Trung Sisters raised the flag of righteousness, Lady La stood up to recruit militiamen in Duong An and then asked to join the Trung Sisters' army. She was appointed by the Trung Sisters to command an army to suppress the enemy and won consecutive battles...
After her death, the villagers built a temple to worship her. She was given the title of King of Heaven. In the first year of Thanh Thai (1889), she was given the title of Dich Bao Trung Hung Linh Phu Chi Than. In the following times, she was still given the title of Dich Bao Trung Hung Linh Phu Chi Than and A La Nuong De Phu Nhan.
Every year, the traditional festival of Ly Nhan village is held on January 12 to commemorate the contributions of A La to the people and the country.
In addition to the rituals of worship and incense offering, Ly Nhan village festival also has a competition to make sticky rice cakes, also known as the sticky rice cake pounding festival. Previously, the sticky rice cake pounding festival was held solemnly for 3 consecutive days, on the 30th day of the 11th lunar month, followed by the 1st and 2nd day of the 12th lunar month, also known as the Ba Chap festival.
After 23 years of interruption, in 2025, with the consent of the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ly Nhan village rice cake pounding festival was restored and held on January 11 (February 8, 2025), before the main traditional festival day of Ly Nhan village on January 12 (February 9, 2025).
13 teams representing the families of Ly Nhan village participated in the Banh Day Pounding Festival. The competition time is 90 minutes to complete, with different stages, typically steaming sticky rice, pounding sticky rice, making cakes, making cakes...
In addition to the ceremony, the traditional festival of Ly Nhan village also has a festival with exciting cultural and sports activities, folk games such as wrestling, blindfolded pot smashing...
The traditional festival of Ly Nhan village took place safely, joyfully and healthily.
In order for the festival to take place successfully, the People's Committee of Duc Tu commune previously established and consolidated the Organizing Committee of the traditional festival; the commune issued Notice No. 17/TB-UBND, dated February 5, 2025, announcing the hotline to receive feedback and recommendations from organizations and individuals on the management and organization of the At Ty Spring Festival 2025 in the commune, which is publicly available at the Commune People's Committee headquarters, posted on the Commune's electronic information page and at the department of receiving and returning results of handling records and administrative procedures of the People's Committee of Duc Tu commune, at cultural houses, religious establishments, historical and cultural relics, and festival areas in the commune for individuals and organizations to know. In addition, the Organizing Committee of the Ly Nhan village festival has also developed the Regulations for organizing the Banh Day Price Competition so that people know and participate in large numbers, contributing to the success of the festival...
The traditional festival of Ly Nhan village is an opportunity to unite the community, therebyeducating the tradition of patriotism and gratitude for the merits of ancestors.
