(kontumtv.vn) – On the morning of June 4, the People's Committee of Dak Ha district organized the launch of "Tree Planting Festival to forever remember Uncle Ho" in response to World Environment Day June 5.
The launching ceremony aims to call on cadres, party members, civil servants, public employees and all people to follow Uncle Ho's teaching "For the benefit of ten years, we must plant trees, for the benefit of a hundred years, we must cultivate people". Thereby, it is determined that this is a practical, effective and long-term strategic work to proactively contribute to preventing and combating natural disasters, preserving the ecological environment, beautifying the natural landscape, developing the socio -economy, helping to improve the material and spiritual life of the people. At the same time, raising awareness of the meaning and importance of the movement "Tet tree planting to forever remember Uncle Ho" in response to "World Environment Day June 5"; effectively implementing forest management, protection and development; promptly preventing acts of forest burning, deforestation, illegal exploitation of forest products, and encroachment on forest land; creating a mechanism to support and encourage sustainable forest economic development.
Currently, Dak Ha district is managing and protecting more than 38,000 hectares of natural forest; forest coverage by the end of 2023 will reach over 46%. From 2021 to present, the district has planted nearly 57,000 scattered trees and more than 1,080 hectares of production forest. Thereby, actively contributing to the implementation of the Project to plant 1 billion trees launched by the Government .
After the launching ceremony, cadres, Party members and people of Dak Ha district planted more than 7,000 trees and 150 bamboo clumps on roads, village cultural houses, residential areas, community cultural activity areas and eco- tourism spots in the district./.
