The event is a key activity to pay tribute to President Ho Chi Minh - the founder of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press and generations of journalists who have devoted themselves to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation. This is also an opportunity to review the glorious journey of revolutionary journalism, from Thanh Nien newspaper founded by leader Nguyen Ai Quoc in 1925, through the stages of fighting for independence and national unification, to the period of innovation and integration. The above marks affirm the pioneering role of revolutionary journalism on the ideological - cultural front, orienting the development of modern journalism in the era of digital transformation and artificial intelligence, while spreading historical, cultural and professional values to the public, especially the younger generation.
Within the framework of the event, Nhan Dan Newspaper introduced three outstanding products.
The first is the book “Uncle Ho’s Articles on Culture and Journalism in Nhan Dan Newspaper”, a collection of typical articles by President Ho Chi Minh published in Nhan Dan Newspaper, reflecting his ideology, ethics, style, and vision on culture and journalism. This is a valuable document, not only helping readers understand Uncle Ho’s role in shaping revolutionary journalism, but also serving as a guideline for generations of journalists.
The second publication is the special issue of June 21, 2025. The issue is organized in a coherent, consistent and symbolic five-part structure: Origin - Mission (1925 - 1945), Journalists - Soldiers (1945 - 1975), Accompanying Innovation (1975 - 2025), I Tell Our Stories, and Journalism in the Digital Age. The gathering of a strong, multi-generational team of authors is the factor that creates the special identity of this issue. From writers who have been associated with Nhan Dan Newspaper to prominent names in the journalism industry and young journalists in the post-digital era - all are present, creating a "polyphonic harmony" of revolutionary journalism through the ages.
The third highlight is the publication “Imprints & Trends”, a carefully compiled work consisting of two parts: Imprints reviews 100 typical milestones of revolutionary journalism, from institutional and ideological turning points to technology and organization; Trends analyzes major transformations in the age of AI and digital media, from content production, newsroom organization to public outreach, with international data and domestic practical perspectives. This publication not only pays tribute to the past, but also calls on generations of journalists to innovate to maintain revolutionary identity.
On this occasion, the special exhibition celebrating the 100th anniversary of Vietnam's Revolutionary Press took place from June 18 to 21 at the headquarters of Nhan Dan Newspaper, the area facing Hoan Kiem Lake, convenient for people and tourists to visit. The exhibition displays documents, images, and valuable artifacts about the 100-year journey of revolutionary journalism, from the first newspapers such as Thanh Nien, Viet Nam Doc Lap to publications during the resistance war and renovation. The space of journalism through historical periods, from secret printing bunkers, fierce battlefields to modern editorial offices, is vividly recreated. Typical journalistic works, documentary videos and multimedia products demonstrate the development of journalism in the digital age. The interactive area for the public, especially the young generation, helps them experience the journalism process and explore the role of journalism in social life.
In addition, there is a space to display postage stamps of President Ho Chi Minh next to an ancient banyan tree. The exhibition not only preserves historical memories, but also serves as a bridge to bring the public closer to the cultural, ideological and professional values of revolutionary journalism.
Along with the above events, Nhan Dan Newspaper has built an electronic website at “baochicachmang.vn”, synthesizing articles, images, videos, and documents about 100 years of revolutionary journalism. The website is a rich, easily accessible online resource serving domestic and foreign readers, contributing to spreading historical values and orienting the development of journalism in the digital age.
Speaking at the ceremony, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper Le Quoc Minh affirmed: The books, special publications and exhibitions on the occasion of June 21, 2025 are an important milestone of the newspaper towards the 100th anniversary of Vietnam's revolutionary press. These publications not only pay tribute and preserve memories, but also shape the direction of development, spread professional values, and inspire today's generation to join.
