According to the document, the restoration of the Royal Throne strictly complies with the provisions of the Law on Cultural Heritage and instructions from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The Hue Monuments Conservation Center is required to complete the plan and send a report to the Hue City People's Committee before June 20, 2025, for the city to synthesize and report to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
During the implementation process, the Center needs to apply modern scientific and technical methods to analyze the constituent materials, clearly identify the previous stages of restoration and preservation. From there, choose a suitable restoration method, ensuring accuracy, science and sustainability. In particular, traditional technology will be prioritized on the basis of closely following the original documents, the current state of the artifacts and making the most of the collected broken throne armrest pieces.
The Hue City People's Committee also requested the Hue Monuments Conservation Center to coordinate with the National Archives Center and related organizations and individuals to research, supplement documents and digitize all data related to the National Treasure of the Nguyen Dynasty's Throne. Consulting with experts in the field of conservation is also encouraged to ensure that the chosen solution is optimal and has a solid scientific basis.
Previously, immediately after the incident of the King's Throne being violated, the Department of Cultural Heritage (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) issued a document requesting an urgent inspection and assessment of the current status of the artifact, ensuring timely safety and protection measures for the treasure. At the same time, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh also requested the People's Committee of Hue City to direct a review of the technical status of the artifact, and propose solutions for preservation and restoration according to regulations.
Immediately afterwards, the Hue City People's Committee quickly established a Council to assess the condition and propose a plan to preserve and restore the Throne. The Council directly inspected the current state of the artifact, held an assessment meeting and proposed an official plan. This is an important first step in the process of restoring a special symbol of power of the Nguyen Dynasty - an artifact with the most typical historical, cultural and artistic value in the heritage treasure of the Ancient Capital of Hue.
