At the press conference ahead of the 2025 AFF Women's Cup, coach Mai Duc Chung shared: "First of all, I would like to thank the Southeast Asian Football Federation (AFF) and the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) for organizing this tournament. This is an important tournament, an opportunity to practice and prepare directly for the SEA Games taking place at the end of this year."

Regarding the opponents in Group A, the head coach of the Vietnamese women's team commented: "We respect all teams. We have watched the matches of Indonesia, Thailand and Cambodia. They have made very positive changes. So I think the Vietnamese players need to try their best against each opponent."

Coach Mai Duc Chung also affirmed that playing at home is a big advantage for the Vietnamese women's team: "We also want to send a call to Vietnamese football fans to cheer for the Vietnamese women's team in this tournament."

Key striker Huynh Nhu emphasized: "Being able to play at home, besides the advantage, I think this is also a pressure for the team. But my teammates and I will turn that pressure into motivation. I also hope that fans across the country can come to the stadium to cheer for the Vietnamese women's team. Previously, the Vietnamese women's team also won the championship at Lach Tray, so Nhu will also consider that as motivation to be able to make history once again."

Cambodia team head coach: "We will try our best"

On the other side of the front line, the head coach of the Cambodian women's team - Mr. Gyotoku Koji shared: "This is definitely a difficult tournament for the Cambodian team. The three teams Vietnam, Thailand and Indonesia are all strong opponents, so we will try our best to get 3 points in this tournament.

Notably, coach Koji was only appointed to lead the Cambodian women's team a few days ago. Regarding this, the Japanese coach said: "Actually, I took over the team 10 days ago. This is the first time I have coached a women's team, while the previous coach is an assistant in the current coaching staff."

"In football, the goal in every match is of course to win. However, the opening match will be very difficult against Vietnam. I cannot make predictions in advance, but we will show our best performance," affirmed the head coach of the Cambodian women's team.
