AVC Nations Cup 2025 - formerly known as AVC Challenge Cup, the tournament in which Vietnamese women's volleyball team won two consecutive championships in 2023 and 2024. This year, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team have a great advantage in defending the championship when they play at home, with enthusiastic cheers from the stands.
This year’s tournament features 11 teams, divided into two groups. Vietnam’s women’s volleyball team is in group A with opponents Australia, India, Hong Kong and Chinese Taipei. This can be considered a fairly easy group for the host team, as the opponents are not rated too highly.
On the world rankings, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team has the highest ranking in Group A at 32nd.
The remaining teams are all ranked quite far behind. Specifically, Chinese Taipei (45th), India (53rd), Australia (55th) and Hong Kong (60th).
Therefore, if they play at their best, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's team has the ability to be one of the top two teams in the group to win a ticket to the semi-finals.
Meanwhile, Group B of the AVC Nations Cup 2025 brings together Kazakhstan, Philippines, Iran, Indonesia, Mongolia and New Zealand.
This is an unpredictable group, as the teams are quite similar in level. The ticket to the next round will be a fierce competition between Kazakhstan, Philippines and Indonesia.
The AVC Nations Cup 2025 will take place from June 7 to 14. Group stage matches will take place at 10:00, 12:30, 15:00, 17:30 and 20:00.
