On the afternoon of November 20, the Department of Cinema - Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City to hold a press conference to open the 24th Vietnam Film Festival (VNF).

According to Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Co-Head of the Steering Committee, the 24th Vietnam Film Festival is also an activity for Ho Chi Minh City to introduce its strong transformation, affirming its role as an economic , cultural, educational and scientific-technological center, especially in the context that Ho Chi Minh City has been recognized by UNESCO as a "Creative City of Cinema"; at the same time marking the 55th anniversary of the Vietnam Film Festival (1970-2025).

Mr. Ta Quang Dong, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Head of the Steering Committee of the 24th Vietnam Film Festival, said that KHP had the participation of more than 800 guests, with many artists, film producers, distributors, distributors, film organizations, film and media companies with competing films and films being screened, along with many international delegates and diplomatic representatives.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City, Co-Head of the Organizing Committee of the 24th Vietnam Film Festival, during the 5 days of the Film Festival in Ho Chi Minh City, the public will be able to watch free films (including films of the Panorama Program and competition films) at three large cinema complexes: Galaxy Park Mall - 6th floor, Park Mall Shopping Center, 547-549 Ta Quang Buu, Chanh Hung Ward; CGV Hung Vuong Plaza - 126 Hong Bang, Cho Lon Ward; Cinestar Hai Ba Trung - 135 Hai Ba Trung, Saigon Ward.

In addition, Galaxy Nguyen Du Cinema (116 Nguyen Du, Ben Thanh Ward) will screen and interact with the film crew of “Red Rain”. This is also the opening film of the 24th Vietnam Film Festival in Ho Chi Minh City.

The photo exhibition “Ho Chi Minh City grows with the country through a cinematic perspective” from November 21-25, introduces more than 200 images of people, life, the process of innovation, integration and development of Saigon - Ho Chi Minh City through many stages, helping the public understand more about the historical and cultural context through the lens of cinema.

The Opening Ceremony of the 24th Vietnam Film Festival with the theme “Vietnamese Cinema - Sustainable Development and International Integration in the New Era”, will be held at 8:00 p.m. on November 21 at the outdoor area of ​​Thong Nhat Hall.

The Closing and Award Ceremony of the 24th Vietnam Film Festival will take place at 8:00 p.m. on November 25, at the Army Theater, 140 Cong Hoa Street, Tan Son Nhat Ward, Ho Chi Minh City.
