On the morning of September 12 (Vietnam time), the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) awards ceremony took place in New York, USA.

K-pop fans are eagerly awaiting Lisa's appearance as a solo artist, not as a member of Blackpink. The Thai star is also nominated in four categories at this year's awards.

As expected, Lisa defeated strong opponents such as Jungkook (BTS), Stray Kids, New Jeans, TXT and NCT Dream, to win the Best Kpop Song category, with her solo hit "Rockstar".

On stage, Lisa thanked Blackpink fans and her own fans as a solo artist, collectively known as Blinks and Lilies.

The singer previously won the category in 2022 for her solo single "Lalisa." Lisa now holds the record for being the first K-pop solo artist to win Best K-pop multiple times at the MTV VMAs.

Not only making history with "Rockstar", Lisa also impressed when appearing with a powerful look on the black carpet of the event.

Lisa stepped out in a custom-designed Mugler gown, complete with a bold corset and a mysterious hood. She also wore snake-patterned jewelry from Bvlgari, for which Lisa is a global ambassador.

On social network X (Twitter), keywords and hashtags about Lisa became a trend with hundreds of thousands of posts. According to statistics, Lisa is the most mentioned artist on X to date.

This is Lisa's first time attending the MTV VMAs as a solo artist. In 2022, the entire group Blackpink (4 members Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, Lisa) landed at this awards ceremony and performed the hit "Pink Venom".

This year, Lisa took the stage alone. The Thai star performed two solo songs she released in 2024, “New Woman" and “Rockstar,” with a powerful group of dancers.

In a red outfit, Lisa confidently showed off her seductive dance moves, proving her superiority as one of the strongest dancers in Kpop.
