Excellent form and high spirits after winning the League Cup gave Man Utd confidence when visiting Liverpool in round 26 of the Premier League. However, Anfield once again brought nightmares to the Red Devils. Man Utd suffered a crushing defeat with a score even worse than the 0-4 loss last season.
In the first half, the away team played well. Man Utd and Liverpool created an attractive and fast-paced game. Players from both teams switched back and forth between attack and defense.

Andy Robertson set up Cody Gakpo for the opener in the 43rd minute. The goal was a turning point for the game in a completely different way in the second half.
Liverpool entered the second half in high spirits. Within five minutes of the break, the home team scored two more goals with Darwin Nunez and Gakpo. Man Utd were broken. Even a player of high class and good form like Casemiro showed confusion.

Liverpool added four more goals with Nunez, Mohamed Salah (double) and Roberto Firmino scoring. The Anfield team won 7-0 and temporarily rose to 5th place in the rankings.
This is Man Utd's biggest defeat in the Premier League. In the history of this team in all competitions, they have never lost by a margin of more than 7 goals.
