In the first days after completing the merger, Hai Phong City sent out a strong message about attracting investment by calling for the implementation of a series of urban, social housing,education and environmental projects. These projects have a total investment of more than 33,000 billion VND and an implementation period of 5-9 years. This move shows the determination to synchronously plan, create a driving force for modern urban development, regional connectivity and attract long-term investment, aiming to turn Hai Phong City into a new growth center of the North.
Among the urban area projects, the largest is the Trang Due Urban Area Expansion Project - Commercial Services and Workers' Housing with a total investment of VND 9,384,617 billion. The project is implemented in An Hai, An Duong, An Phong wards with a total estimated land area of about 90.76 hectares. The project will build townhouses, villas for sale, social housing apartment buildings, and commercial service works to meet the urgent housing needs of residents and workers.
In addition, the Hong Thai - An Hai New Urban Area Investment Project is calling for investors with a total capital of 6,966.19 billion VND, implemented in An Duong and An Hai wards, with an expected area of 66.03 hectares. This urban area will diversify housing types, from townhouses, villas to commercial apartments and social housing, with a total floor area of housing construction of up to more than 609,000 m2.
In the list of urban area projects calling for investment from Hai Phong, there is also the Dong Son - Hoa Binh Urban Area Construction Investment Project in Luu Kiem Ward and Hoa Binh Ward with a total investment of VND 2,687.23 billion on an area of 266,866 m2; the Social Housing Project in Nam Son Ward, An Duong District (now An Duong Ward) with a total investment of VND 2,998 billion, an area of about 26 hectares; the Thuy Duong - Thuy Son Urban Area Construction Investment Project in Thuy Duong Ward with a total investment of VND 964.559 billion, land area of about 767,846.96 m2.
In addition, there are also educational and social security projects such as the Kindergarten in An Duong, the High School in Kien An and the 120-hectare Elderly Care Center in Thuy Nguyen. Notably, Hai Phong also focuses on the education sector with the Education Complex Project in Kien An Ward with a total investment of VND 648.48 billion on an area of 10 hectares. This complex will include higher education, vocational education and general education facilities from primary to high school, with a scale of receiving about 5,820 students each year and 445 teachers, officers and employees.
Hai Phong City is also actively calling for investment in other areas to improve infrastructure and improve the quality of public services, demonstrating the city's comprehensive vision for sustainable urban development. These include the Kinh Mon Waste Treatment Plant Construction Project in Nhi Chieu Ward, with a total investment of VND 327.029 billion; the Yen Market Construction Investment Project in Tu Ky Commune, with a total investment of VND 84.429 billion.
The merger not only brings a new administrative scale, but also significantly expands the development space for Hai Phong City. With its strategic location, seaport system, airport and synchronous transport infrastructure, the City is gradually realizing its goal of becoming a modern marine economic center, an industrial and logistics locomotive of the North.
At the same time, the implementation of calling for investment in a series of large projects immediately after the merger not only reflects political determination, but is also a concrete step for Hai Phong to fully exploit new potential. The city is re-planning space and repositioning its role on the national growth map.
