Note
Although lion breath practice has many health benefits, there are a few things to keep in mind when doing it:
- Relax your face and breathe normally a few times before doing the next lion breath. This is better than doing it continuously.
- If you feel uncomfortable or have difficulty breathing, you should stop and seek help from an experienced teacher.
- After completing the repetitions, inhale and exhale deeply through your nose for at least three minutes before continuing.
Who should not practice lion breath exercise?
People who may have recently had surgery or an injury, especially to the face, neck or throat, should avoid this practice as it may cause discomfort or hinder the healing process. Pregnant women are advised to avoid this practice as the forceful exhalations and intense facial expressions may be unsafe for them.
