(Haiphong.gov.vn) - Based on the actual situation and the city's direction on overcoming damage after storm No. 3, to ensure the best conditions for the Do Son traditional Buffalo Fighting Festival to be held safely and successfully; on September 9, the People's Committee of Do Son district issued a notice to move the Festival from 7:30 a.m. on September 11, 2024 (ie August 9 of the lunar calendar) to September 21, 2024 (ie August 19 of the lunar calendar).

The contents of the Ceremony are still held according to the traditional time and rituals. The invitation to the Festival on September 11, 2024 (ie August 9 of the Lunar calendar) will be used for September 21, 2024 (ie August 19 of the Lunar calendar).

On the morning of September 9, 2024 (ie August 7 of the Lunar calendar), Do Son district organized a Water Procession Ceremony following traditional rituals.

According to preliminary statistics, as of September 8, 2024, storm No. 3 made landfall in Hai Phong, causing damage to Do Son district estimated at about 200 billion VND, especially commercial and service businesses in the tourist area were damaged, the central stadium area of the district - the venue for the Festival was severely damaged. Repairing the power grid encountered many difficulties, the water in the entire district was cut off for repairs, communication was unstable, and the progress of completing facilities to serve the people and tourists attending the Festival on the 9th day of the 8th lunar month (ie September 11, 2024) as usual every year was not guaranteed.

The People's Committee of Do Son district decided to change the time of organizing the Festival, hoping to receive support from all levels, sectors, people and tourists so that the traditional Do Son Buffalo Fighting Festival in 2024 will be successfully organized.
