Build a house, take care of for life
Binh Duong currently has over 64,000 people recognized and receiving preferential treatment, paying monthly subsidies to over 7,000 people, with an amount of over 12.5 billion VND/month.

The authorities at all levels in the province have done very well in the above activities, increasingly improving the lives of policy families and people with revolutionary contributions”.
Warmth and affection are what Mr. Nguyen Van Tieng, a 3/4 disabled veteran in Khanh Binh ward, Tan Uyen city, felt when talking about the care of the local government for families of policy beneficiaries and meritorious people. “On the occasion of Lunar New Year and War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27), ward and quarter cadres visited, gave gifts, and encouraged each family. In addition to focusing on building houses and implementing policies well, authorities at all levels also created conditions to support capital for production, business, vocational training, and job creation for children of meritorious people... Thanks to that, most families of meritorious people and children of meritorious people are now stable, with a higher standard of living than the general level,” said Mr. Nguyen Van Tieng.
During the Lunar New Year 2025 alone, the province visited and presented gifts to 63,875 people with revolutionary contributions, with a total cost of nearly 67 billion VND. Of which, socialized resources visited and presented gifts to 6,197 people, with a total cost of nearly 3.4 billion VND... Authorities at all levels also mobilized organizations and individuals to support all living Vietnamese heroic mothers for life. The monthly support level is from 1 million VND or more. Coordinated with Binh Duong Lottery One Member Co., Ltd. to build and present dozens of gratitude houses to people with revolutionary contributions every year. Vietnamese heroic mothers and seriously wounded soldiers (grade 1/4) receive health care according to the examination and treatment regime for mid- and high-ranking officials of the province.
Every year, the province also allocates over 2 billion VND from the budget to organize tours for Vietnamese heroic mothers, revolutionary and resistance cadres who were imprisoned by the enemy, and outstanding people with meritorious services to visit Hanoi , visit President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum, Con Dao and Phu Quoc...
Health care, employment
The care for the lives of policy families and meritorious people has always been of interest and direction to the provincial leaders and well implemented by the localities. In addition to paying regular allowances, on holidays and Tet holidays, each locality in the province builds models and good practices associated with caring for policy families. That is actively mobilizing people and businesses to join hands to contribute to the province's "Gratitude Fund" up to tens of billions of VND each year.
From this fund, each year, the province has organized free medical examination and treatment for tens of thousands of meritorious people and policy families; supported thousands of scholarships for children of policy families at all levels of education. Communes and wards regularly mobilize social resources to support regular gifts for families in difficult circumstances. Purchase and give essential items to policy families and meritorious people in difficult circumstances.
Every year, local authorities also coordinate with businesses and philanthropists to support and give thousands of health insurance cards to policy families. The review, support for jobs, and loans for family economic development are also carried out continuously by localities. From this source of capital, many families invest in farming, livestock farming, and small businesses, creating a stable source of income. Many communes and wards coordinate with businesses located in the area to prioritize job creation for children of meritorious people. Typically, in Thai Hoa ward, Tan Uyen city, every year, Rochdale Company Limited always prioritizes job creation and vocational training for children of meritorious people... Every year, the province always allocates a portion of the budget to support free vocational training for children of policy families and meritorious people and cooperates with businesses to create jobs and stable income for children after training.
In addition to implementing the provisions of the Ordinance on preferential treatment for people with meritorious services, in recent years, Binh Duong has also had its own policies to take care of people with meritorious services, such as: The Provincial People's Council issued Resolution No. 17/2020 increasing the support level for building new gratitude houses from 80 million VND to 100 million VND/house; repairing from 40 million VND to 50 million VND/house; building new houses on weak ground will receive an additional support of 20 million VND/house. In addition, the province also provides additional monthly support for people with meritorious services, 15 - 30% higher than the Government's regulations.
Specifically, in 2018, the Provincial People's Council passed a Resolution to provide additional support for about 8,000 meritorious people in the province with a total budget of more than 3 billion VND/month and support funerals for a number of policy beneficiaries in the province with a support level of 20 to 30 million VND...
Thanks to the attentive care of the provincial authorities, up to now, 99.88% of the people with meritorious services in the province have a living standard of average or higher than that of the residential area where they live. Of these, there are 1,193 rich households, 2,212 well-off households, and 2,180 households with an average living standard. 100% of communes, wards, and towns maintain the title of communes and wards that do well in social security work for people with meritorious services and policy families. |
