Hai Duong Department of Construction informed that by mid-June, the locality had completed the demolition of temporary and dilapidated houses for policy households, ahead of the set target.
The program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Hai Duong province was implemented from October 2024, with 1,452 policy-entitled households being able to build new or repair houses.
Of which, 855 are families of people with revolutionary contributions and martyrs' relatives (318 newly built households, 536 repaired households); 598 are poor and near-poor households (373 newly built households and 225 repaired households).
The total cost of the program is nearly 327.2 billion VND. Of which, more than 28 billion VND is supported by the Central Government (advanced by the provincial budget); more than 79 billion VND from the provincial budget, the "Repaying gratitude" and "For the poor" funds of the province; 220 billion VND is mobilized from families, clans and other sources of support.

The locality also mobilized nearly 35,500 working days, of which women's union members contributed more than 17,800 working days, youth union members contributed more than 10,300 working days; the rest were police, military, family, community members, etc.
According to the Hai Duong Department of Construction, for newly built households, 560 million VND/house for households with revolutionary contributions, relatives of martyrs; 275 million VND/house for near-poor households and 210 million VND/poor households. For repaired houses, it is from 75 to 80 million VND/house.
The quality of houses after new construction or repair must ensure the 3 hard criteria (hard foundation, hard frame and hard roof) according to the instructions of the Ministry of Construction , with a house area of 30 m2 or more.
Some families, with the help of relatives, clans and the community, have rebuilt their houses to be more spacious and beautiful with a budget much larger than the supported budget.
This is one of many social security programs that Hai Duong has systematically implemented, mobilizing the entire political system and the entire population to participate. Its completion is even more meaningful as Hai Duong will merge with Hai Phong in just half a month.
