Pep Guardiola once considered Rodrygo an ideal replacement for Savinho, the Brazilian player who is being pursued by Tottenham. But although Spurs were willing to pay £65m for Savinho, Man City changed their minds and wanted to keep the midfielder.
This means that Rodrygo is no longer a priority for Man City in this summer's transfer window. Previously, the Premier League representative had prepared an offer of 80 to 100 million euros for the Brazilian star.
Rodrygo is ready to leave Real Madrid this summer if a suitable destination comes along. However, after more than a month, the Brazilian striker has yet to receive a suitable offer.

Rodrygo's future is a question mark. |
Liverpool and Arsenal are the other two clubs to have expressed an interest in Rodrygo, with Liverpool viewing the Brazilian as a backup option in case they fail to sign Alexander Isak.
Meanwhile, Arsenal could only consider signing Rodrygo if they fail to sign Eberechi Eze. The Gunners have previously asked about the possibility of taking Rodrygo on loan with an option to buy next summer.
Rodrygo's current contract with Real Madrid runs until June 2028. Barring any last-minute surprises, the "number 11" will continue to play for the Spanish Royal team in the 2025/26 season.
